Remarks
Admission is done through the entrance exams like KCET, COMED-K, and JEE-Mains. I got admitted to this college through KCET. In 2020 the cutoff for mechanical engineering in Siddaganga institute of technology was about 48000 ranks in KCET. After the KCET seat allotment, you have to pay the fees through net banking, DD or NEFT, the fees will be shown on the KCET website while you are selecting the colleges. Then you have to go for admission to college. Then any extra fees would have to pay.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course mainly due to my interest in mechanical subjects like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and finite element analysis. Faculty members teaching methods are just above average. The term exams are conducted on time every semester. Some subjects are a little difficult to pass and some are easy.
Internships Opportunities
The students are offered interships in many companies. There will be many choice for the students for internship. The students should do a minor project in the third year and a major project in the fourth year.
Placement Experience
The campus selection is done twice in thought the course duration first when you are in the third year and the next when you're in the fourth year. In Mechanical engineering, the average salary is 3.5 LPA. The companies which visit include Mahendra, TVs, Benz, Toyota etc
Fees and Financial Aid
As I said earlier, I was selected through Kcet so, the fee structure is around rupees 82000, of which 58000 needs to be paid through the KCET and the rest to be paid at the college. You can also apply for scholarships like SSP and NSP
Campus Life
The college has a good Library and a good collection of books in it. The college also has many technical clubs on topics like Drones, automobiles, and robots and non-technical clubs like drama, dance, music-based clubs
Hostel Facilities
The registration process for hostel is done at the hostel office which is just opposite to physics department. For boys there are 4 hostels, each hostel for each year students inside the campus. And for girls the hostel is outside the campus and bus facilities are there for them.
