Remarks

My admission process was good. I got my admission to this College based on my 12th class result. There were many candidates who didn't get admission for their poor results. To know the admission application form and fees and dates I have checked the college's official website. There are no reservations availed. I got one thing which I think has to improve that is their admission verification process which is too boring and very lengthy and that is very important COVID time otherwise all things are good.

Course Curriculum Overview

I think this course is very important for me for a better life carrier. Many students are also interested in this course around 20:100. 12th class qualification is needed for this course and teaching online or offline, is not a matter but practically proves experience is most interesting. After every six months exam is held in another college which is also the same University undertaking and that makes it more. difficult to pass on the exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every Semester Fees are around 5000 also there are many fill-ups like exam from fees, donation fees, occasional fees, etc. Around 15000 we spend every year on college purposes, also there are many tuition fees we spend. I got a stipend from the WB govt. Department for my OBC caste purpose.

Campus Life

There is an Annual fest arranged every year for freshers to welcome and final year students to fare well and the fest name is UMANG. Only textbooks are available in our college library no journals are available. Our college doesn't support all extracurricular activities excluding Politics. The social group for students is TMCP.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Our college has a very active placement cell that fetches jobs for everyone who needs and deserve it. The highest package was 24 lacs per annum last year and it is only expected to go up this round almost all students to set for placements are placed but in my department specifically most opt for higher studies like myself.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. RKMVCC is a great college NIRF 3 in 2024
