Remarks

The eligibility was based on MHCET (State entrance examination) cutoffs. After meeting the cutoff criteria, this college was allocated. After that, the admission process began. Filling in all details in the admission form, and submitting valid documents with scorecard proofs. Then after completing basic admission formalities, fees for that academic year were paid.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was based on Pune University standards to which the college was affiliated. The faculty-student ratio was around 3/10 The faculty was well qualified, most of them with master's degrees and rich experience. Exams were conducted regularly based on Pune University guidelines and schedules,

Placement Experience

Students were eligible for placements in the second semester of 3 yr itself. It was a centralised placement where numerous companies held their drives. Placement criteria were based on percentages of students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was covering every aspect of the academic year including tuition fees, and other miscellaneous fees. Initially the fee was 70000, but it was hiked to 100000 from the second year onwards. Various scholarships were provided. Most commonly applied by students were from Economically weaker sections

Campus Life

College infrastructure was good. But it was located outside city. Social life was full of vibrancy. Annual fest like tech fest and cultural fest were held annually. College library was good. Plenty books were provided for students.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities were near college itself. Food was good and hygienic. The menu only included vegetarian food. Registration for hostel was on first come first serve basis Hostel fees were little bit costly compared to PG/room facilities

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

SIT is best engineering college of Pune!!

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. 1) As I wasn't scored good enough in JEE so I couldn't get admission top engineering collges that time. Sinhgad Institute was good option for me because it's renowned institute in Pune and also has good placement record compared to other collges like JSPM, AISSMS etc. 2) Yes I got rejected from many institutes such as VIT, PICT, PCCOE due to low scores in entrance. 3) Admission procedure for college is according to guidelines given by State common entrance test cell.
