Remarks

Management is composed of senior officals,they have managed well enough over these few years . At the top of the management sits our honorable Shivakumara Swmaji (107 yrs old). His blessings help them manage the institution quite fair & well.

Entrance Preview

I had taken Karnataka CET. I secured 4000+ ranking in Engineering stream. I had many options of getting seat in Bengaluru but I chose my home town Tumkur which soon will become a smart city under DigitalIndia project. I chose SIT coz I have knownmany of my seniors,all of theirs feedback was very positive and SIT is one of the top 10 engg colleges in Karnataka.

Course Curriculum Overview

Almost till 6th semester,course curriculum for CSE & ISE were similar. Towards the end of our BE course(6th & 7th sem), we had ISE specific subjects like Cryptography, Information retrieval,Business Intelligence,datawarehousing. Overall it was credits system since ours is autonomous college. The curriculum was designed in a nice manner so that we cover most of the trending topics also along with traditional electives.

Internships Opportunities

We could do internship outside as well since it would provide us with industry exposure but there was option to use Industrial competency lab for which no stiffend was offered but a course case studies were taught.

Placement Experience

SIT is known for its Placements and students with multiple on campus job offers. Some of them Akamai,Ernst & young,MuSigma,Siemens,Informatica,Delloite,Societe Generale,TCS,Wipro,Mindtree,Tally solutions,KPIT cummins. Average salary offered was 4 LPA during 2014.

College Events

At SIT, every year there would be college day "Halcyon" which is spread across 3 days of fun,entertainment,food and gamesALso they organize 'Spandana" for public and school children with events in streams of art, singing,dancing,painting.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fess was quite the same where other colleges also demand. Mine was free seat meaning good rank and annual income less than 4LPA,I paid approx 30K every year. Other payment seat students paid 40K per year and COMED-K students paid approx 1.25 LPA per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes they give scholarship recognised by Govt of India MHRD scholarship to eligible students. No loans as I have heard of from the college. They give top ten merit students from CET with scholarships and reduced fee if they continue to score well in their corresponding years of study over their.

Campus Life

SIT campus is GREEN campus,awarded many times for its lush green surroundings . Its a wide campus,every department isolated with very good infrastuucture. Even the stadium,offee shop,cafeteria,pavement,basket ball court,hostels inside.

Hostel Facilities

I was a locallite dint had much of hostel experience to share but I used to visit them to meet friends.Overall they were clean,well maintained and heard they provide good food.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Exam Structure

Exams in the form of bi-weekly quizes,monthly Internals and end semester exams. I was always chilled out during exams,labs both before and after.

Faculty

When it comes to faculty,they are quite good and many of the experienced professors and PHD holders are there alsongside with M.tech completed lecturers for lab assistance.

My College Story

Placement Experience:

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

My College Story

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”

My Honest College Experience at CIT(Cambridge Institute of Technology)

Placement Experience:

The students who are studying in 7th semester ( final year) are eligible for campus placements but before that in 5th semester there is pre placement training like aptitude everything. Top companies visit for placement like TCS , infosys, wipro, accenture, capegemini, IBM, techmahindra, Mindtree. Average there are 150-250 offers. Average package is 7-8 lpa. The highest package is 54 lpa at botify company. 85 % of students get placed at cse branch and ai amd ml and civil 30 - 50% . Overall 80% students gets placed. My plan is join a top product based company liek google with a good life.

Placement Experience:

Placements are the only bad thing about the college . Average ctc is only 4 lakhs per annum and only handful of students get actual placement.and rest get placed in either call center or training companies

A complete discipline with education

Placement Experience:

The placement are good average packages 8 lakhs highest packages 35 lakhs and the companies include Google ,Microsoft ,service now companies and usually internships are provided as students become eligible for internship after 3rd year percentage of students getting placement 80% my plans still not yet decided

- Talking about me choosing this college over other colleges is because Siddaganga Institute of Technology comes in the top 10 colleges in the entire Karnataka and also has an NIRF ranking below 100. - I had applied various other colleges in Bangalore, but my ranking from KCET was 10,072 which was too high as per the cutoff put by those colleges so I couldn't get colleges in Bangalore and I landed in here. - I didn't get any rejections from other colleges as I had a good ranking in KCET exam along with an aggregate of 93.3% in my 12th. It was just the cutoff of the colleges that made me land in this college and I don't regret being here as I am happy that I am in one of the best colleges in Karnataka. - The admission procedure is simple. If you are coming through KCET or ComedK, then the seats will be alloted by the respective board and these students just come with the required or mentioned documents and just come and do admission in here. If the student is coming through Management seat then he has a different procedure. - There is no particular eligibilty criteria for admission in here, just one thing matter is the students rank which must be below the cutoff mentioned by the college. - The exam most preferred by the students is KCET, whose cutoff varies as per the branch they want admission for....Read More

I had got selected to this college based on my KCET EXAM rankings and i had given this college as my preority at 4th place and got it. i was so happy about getting this college and there was no other second thought and joined here.
