Remarks

The college is very good indeed. It is best reputated law college in Himachal Pradesh and the teachers are very good and co-operative and the college has a very healthy environment. There is no ragging in college and as such no bullying of students etc. The college management is very good and co-operative . So , yes the college is very good.

Entrance Preview

I got admission in university institute of legal studies on merit basis, i.e. On marks obtained in class 12. I chose this course, because i like law and administration and this college is best law college in Himachal Pradesh , that is why i chose it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is very good. From the day 1 we were taught and there were variety of subjects as such five in the first semester and not only academics, we were given moral lectures, guest lectures, and general knowledge. Our teachers are very much concerned about the students and on regular basis we have oral tests and written tests too. Teachers are very much co-operative and much important they guide us very well. Besides this, we have moot courts and court visits, jail visits, vidhan sabha visit. Etc. Officially from college. The college offers much more to students as in other college fests, students from our college represent the college in various competitions etc.

Internships Opportunities

No, our college doesn't offer any internship. But the students on the ibdividual level are having internship, and happens to meet the most qualified advocates and they interact with them.

Placement Experience

0.5

Our college doesn't have placements , so the students on the individual level have to make efforts if they wish to work with any company or firm etc. The students mostly wish to practice law in courts or they wish to be in the branch of judicial panel, so they just prepare for exams and intern with advocates.

College Events

4

At the college level students enjoy various kinds of functions, festivals, etc. Like in college we have annual sports meet, annual law fest, freshers party for the fresh batch and farewell for the final batch. Also on specific days like Independence day, Holi , Teachers day etc. there are many functions at college and students participate in dance ,singing , plays etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure in the college is quite feasible. The college seats are divided on two basis, i.e. Subsidized seats and non subsidized seats. The one falling in subsidized category have to pay less fees as compared to the one falling under non-subsidized seats. The college offers good course in the fees amount so yes it is feasible and no students has problem with the fee structure of the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, the college doesn't offer any scholarship or loan facility. Its just the seats are divided into two categories i.e. Subsidized and non subsidized seats. So the one falling under subsidized seats have to pay less, that is the only type of scholarship we can consider .

Campus Life

3.5

The college has strength of around 600 students and the gender ratio is quite good as there are good number if girls in college compared to boys. There is no discrimination on any of the basis and every one has good terms with other fellow studnets. Also the college has many debate competitions and other competitions too which promotes the extra skills the students have and gives them a platform to show their skills.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The college doesn't have any hostel and thus any mess. The local students live in houses, and the one outside of shimla ,lives as paying guests, some in flats, and some in rooms on the rental basis. The college offers food through canteen, and students eat food there only.

Alumni/Alumna

The interaction we had with our seniors was on the freshers party and we had a very good experience with our seniors . They are very co-operative and helpful and are always acting as guide to new students in the college.

Exam Structure

No, the exams and moots are not at all hectic. Instead we relax during exams because students study law everyday with interest and there is no as such burden of exams etc. We enjoy the study pattern and also the moot courts. The students put a good effort in these activities and beacuse of interest, the student perform well in exams and moot courts, debate and presentations.

Admission

I got admission in university institute of legal studies on merit basis, i.e. On marks obtained in class 12. I bought the prospectus from the college campus itself, and then i filled the form inside and sent it on the address mentioned in the prospectus. Then i was being given the date of counselling and then list was announced of the selected student. I was among them, and then i deposited the fees and i got admission in the college.

Faculty

4.5

The teachers in our college are very much qualified and good too. Most of them are gold medalist in gold medalists in their field and have a doctrate degree also. They are very knowledgeable and cooperative too. The teachers guide the students in every possibke way they can.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I study Psychology, Computer Science and Elective English. I love everything about Psychology. The whole course structureis perfect, and they focus on practicality as well. What I don't like about Computer Science is the lack of practical experience. Exams are fairly easy and are conducted twice per semester. Mid Semester exams are short and the duration is one week. And the finals can go for as long as one and a half month.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you are trying to familiarize yourself with college academics, you will need to learn how college exams are different from high school exams well before you enroll in your first semester of classes. While both college and high school classes are designed to prepare students to become contributing members of society, the environment and the approach are entirely different. You must realize that high school is designed to prepare you for college, but you are considered an adult once you walk the line and apply for college admission. There will be no hand-holding, no parent intervention, more lenient attendance policies, more independent study time, and less one-on-one attention.
