Entrance Preview

I didn't took any entrance test for this course. I filled the admission application and followed the process. There were a series of interviews with faculty and the principal and then a list of selected applicants was published after a few days.

College Events

All the sports events take place on campus except cricket and athletics, which are held in TERI Gram, TERI’s Retreat Centre in Gurgaon. The intra-university Sports Meet is an annual sports extravaganza organized by the this university's Sports Club. It's a two week long event, which includes sports like badminton, table tennis, cricket, athletics, volleyball, football, basketball and carom.

World class infrastructure Faculty to Student Ratio is 1: 9 Gender Ratio: (Students) Male 50%, Female 50%(Faculty) Male 60%, Female 40%. A truly green campus, it puts into practice the very principles it teaches in its classrooms. Hostel Facilities

Yes, this university has a hostel facility exclusively for women. The hostel is spacious and well-furnished, with comfortable single and double rooms with attached bathrooms.

Faculty is good and intelligent. In this campus their are 52 full time faculty and 24 adjunct faculty (researchers at TERI) 95% of faculty members are doctorate. 5% are in the final stages of a doctoral programme Visiting faculty members are from leading universities all over the world.

Placement Experience:

Yes there is a placement cell here. 2nd year students eligible for campus placement company started visiting campus for placement after one month of 2nd year started . Here company came for mostly 3 roles Data analyst, Data scientist and Subject matter expert. Companies like United Airlines, United Healthcare Optum, Cognitio analytics, Courseleap, transOrg analytics etc visited campus and the package they offer depends on company standards it vary from 5 lpa to 20 lpa . Avg package is around 9 lpa and highest package is offered 20 lpa for Data science role. About 20 to 30 percent of students are getting placed mostly are chosen for higher studies like phd . My plan is definitely going to cooperate industry for data analyst role

Campus placements are offered but I am still in my first year so I have no idea. Students usually go for higher studies (PhD) after master's. Clearing entrances becomes a task. They d offer campus placements it's not that intense as it should be.

Placements occur in two phases first in 3rd semester for Phase 1 and then Phase 2 in 4th semester. Percentage of people placed is low but the package and companies they got is excellent. The packages offered from 7.5 LPA to as high as 26 LPA. A lot of big companies visit the campus.

Basically I choose this course because I am interested to study on environment. Again now a days the field in related to environment like disaster management, climate change etc. Facalty is available for the student and they are ready to help students any time. Ratio is correctly not known but I can say that it's good. Facalty is highly educated with PhD holder and other high qualified. Teaching method is basically online distance mode. They provides notes in pdf formate and through video classes. Offline books are provided through postal address. Study materials are easily available on the official website and different application of the official. Exams are conducted as both semester and yearly method. In my course it's semester system and it held timely. Exams are not so tough not too easy.

Remarks:

JNU is one top ranking university. Here the faculties are best and education level and standard are great. You learn and explore so many things beyond your studies also. The best of JNU is, here the peoples (prof., Students and other staff members) are very helpful and encouraging.
