Remarks

JEE(joint entrance exam) is the exam which I gave for admission. Because less number of students opt for this course that's why the cutoff of the course is high. Generally a student scoring 3,00,000 to 4,00,000 rank will be able to get admission in the course. For the admission process you have to register yourself on the website of IPU. Then step by step you will be able to see the list of colleges which are participating in the counselling. You will have to fill your choices according to college and course in the order which you want.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose this course because it covered all the subjects in which I was interested. All the pharmaceutical industry and chemical industries require these types of engineers. Generally the student to faculty ratio is 6:1 and it is quite satisfying. You can easily get in touch with your teachers and ask about your doubts. All the faculty members are having great teaching experience since they are teaching here for years. All of the teachers are having educational qualifications of PhD in their respective subjects. There are two semesters in each year, and each semester consists of Midterm and Endterm. Passing exams are not that difficult but scoring high is really difficult.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Since I have not done an internship till now so I can't share my experience. But I can tell you about it from the experience of my seniors. This time T&P cell fixed the internship of 3rd-year students in the Delhi Jal board. Students worked in the field of wastewater treatment and management. Students also get the opportunity of an industrial visit early irrespective of their year. Generally, you have to work under a professor or project manager on a project and it is a group project. Since the internship is of limited time so most of the students are able to complete 1 or 2 projects in their internship time period.

Placement Experience

3

The training and placement cell of USCT works hard to get an internship in different companies in the third year of your B.Tech. most of the students get assured placement but if you don't get it then you have to apply on your own as the internship is mandatory in 3rd year. This year many companies like BMW and Samsung visited USCT and the highest package was 10 lakh. Around 30 to 40% of students get on-campus placement. Most of the students opt for higher education after completion of the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course is having minimal fees of Rs 80,000 per annum. It is needed to be paid in two instalments, first at the time of online counselling which is 40,000 and the second instalment in few days before the course begins. You will be provided with financial assistance if you submit your documents of low income when they ask it for, it is generally after some weeks of course beginning. Getting on-campus placement is possible only if you are a topper in your class. Many different companies visit USCT majorly are from the core chemical field and the highest packages are of 10 to 15 lakhs per annum.

Campus Life

4.5

USCT organise ChemCord as its annual fest. Since USCT is present in GGSIPU so you will also get to witness the fest of GGSIPU's main campus that is Annukong. The library of the college is just amazing it consists of so many books on different subjects and of different authors. As well as the library is having centralized AC. The sitting and studying capacity of the library is pretty decent. The only problem I faced in the classroom of USCT was in the summer. No AC and no curtains so you will be facing crazy heatwaves in summer. The campus is having badminton court, swimming pool, cricket ground, football ground, basketball court and volleyball court. It also has a girls' common room. College also has a great number of clubs and societies like drama club, photography club, dance club, nature club, music and singing club, fine arts club, chess club etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
