Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

About faculty, faculty is highly experienced and extra-ordinary in their respective fields. You can ask your doubts in class and via email. In case if respective professor is not there then you can ask their TAs doubt anytime they will help you. Each TA have around 30 students.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I can't say much about the college internship opportunities as I do not have much knowledge about it but internships in campus are good most student got PPOs. We get internship after second year and in 3rd year

Placement Experience

5

Placements are very high as average package for CSE students is 26 lpa and highest domestic package is 82 lpa and all over average package is 17lpa. All students are well paced in high profile companies and the lowest package offered was 8 lpa .

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is quite less than private colleges as IITs are government colleges but placements are too high than private colleges. And for scholarships I have somewhat less knowledge as I am a first year undergraduate. But placements is quite high. As average package for CSE branch is 26lpa and highest domestic package is 82 lpa.

Campus Life

4

IITs are more famous for its placement, campus life and extra activities. Our college is best in all of them as it have many clubs as it can. All activities like dancing, music, singing, art, debating, aeromodelling, robotics, softcom etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are good. In first and second year you got room with having 2 students but in third and fourth year single room is provided. Mess food is quite good from other colleges and it is pay and eat system

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
