Remarks

Admitted to this college through WBJEE entrance exam rank. A minimum of 45% marks in HSC was the eligibility criteria for admission to college. One can find the application form, fees and dates online, via the college's official website. I belong to OBC, however, it didn't influence my admission anyhow nor did I get any benefit from it.

Course Curriculum Overview

Before joining the course, I didn't have much idea about all these streams and courses, my tuition teacher had suggested Electrical engineering. Sufficient teachers are there but very very few of them have the proper grasp over the topics they teach, or even if they have the grasp, they are not very good at delivering it. Exams are average, like any other engineering college in India, however, very few application based exams are there.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 357000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study is enough, for some lower-middle-class guys like me, it is difficult to bear the expenses, I completed my graduation with help of an educational loan. No such scholarship or Financial assistance is given from college. I got my job from pooled campus, not from on campus, college did not provide employment to the majority of students.

Campus Life

Fest occurs once in 2 years, it happens in March-April month. There are enough books in the library but they provide old editions only. The classroom is average-sized, and doesn't have much of facilities. The below-average sized ground is there but they often don't allow to play there. Celsius (ciemcelsius.com) is a Facebook page run by students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

My College Experience Uncovered.

The main reason behind choosing the college over other colleges is it's electrical department's history. The electrical department has received many awards, certificates for the projects development. There was a time when the college had 120 students in the electrical department. Making it one of the highest in the state. First of all i got into this college after a WEBJEE score was published. I got to know about it during councilling process. And got into it. But really spoken every college is equal.
