Remarks

Eligibility - jee mains Select the college and course while josaa counseling and everything through josaa. After josaa the process is handover to the college. The process of admission should be a bit faster and should give a bit more time to pay the fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

Mechanical was the only branch I was getting in my rank.The institute was good so took admission here. Faculty to student ratio is about 1:12 All the faculties are very well qalified the professors have doen their PHD from IITs . They teach application based only. Each module has a quiz .rigorous study is needed to pass.

Internships Opportunities

Atlassian, Microsoft, and Time gave huge internships offer with highest stipend of Rs 125000 gievn by atlassian and average stipend was of Rs 20000.There are many other companies like Tata motors and Tata steel which come for internships.

Placement Experience

From end of the 5 semesters, one is eligible for campus placement. The name of the companies visited are - Atlassian ,Microsoft,Amazon,Flipkart,Adobe ,Reliance,Zs associate ,Time, Larsen and turbo,Tata motors ,Maruti suzuki ,Goldman sachchs ,Tata steel. Highest package offered is 54 lakhs by Microsoft and average package offered is 14 lakh. Almost 100% students get placed . My plan is to go for higher studies .

Fees and Financial Aid

Usually, it is seen that after every 3-4 years fee hike of almost arround 2 lakh is done.Its a bit costlier than NITs but it has cost to value. GP Birla scholarship is given.if monetary condition is not good or if the student is meritorius in each sem. .

Campus Life

BITOTSAV is the annual fest that is held in the month of February. Tech fest is Pantheon. Classrooms have ACs, chairs in gallery setup,well ventilated with a lot of windows. BIT has well maintained sports complex and multi gym. There are 14 technical clubs and 14 cultural clubs in BIT.

Hostel Facilities

Single Room - A chair, a table, a bulb hold , tubelight holder ,two plug points. Meal given is decided by mess secretary who is among the students . The meal given has good amount of protein.Meal is hygenic. Registration of hostel id done uon arrival to college. Mess registration is done through BITS welfare society in website. It is must to stay in hostel .

Hostel Fee: INR 400000 per year

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
