Remarks

College management needs to work upon just the placement cell and needs to invent new methods to keep uninterested students glued and up for studies.

Entrance Preview

IIT Jee, BITSAT, VIT Vellore, SRM and Ip's entrance test. I chose this college because it was one of those few government colleges that had Chemical Engineering. Also, I preferred staying in Delhi and after IITD, USCT only offers this stream in Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Honestly, the curriculum is not research focussing yet but the teachers of my college are themselves involved in various research projects due to which interested students can do research with PhD scholars under the guidance of our faculty. Also, the experiments are mind boggling at times but that situation is rare.

Internships Opportunities

Our college provides an internship in 3rd year. But at present there is no placement cell running upon which the students of our college(including me) are working.

Placement Experience

2

Not very bleak. But after GATE, a nominal package of 3 lakh can be taken from companies like IOCL, HPCL etc. About 3-5 students were placed, rest went for masters abroad, MBA or M.Tech in India. The maximum package of a student last years was 12,00,000.

College Events

3

Teachnical events like chemchord is held which incorporates all the events related to chemical like- paper presentation, model making, quiz, treasure hunt, etc which includes All the knowledge related to our course. For refreshment, at the end of two days, a cultural night is conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is really feasible. I think amongst all the government colleges in India, USS is one of the most reasonable and feasible college for the ones whi need financial aid. It costs 50,000-60,000 per year and no further charges. The canteen is also really reasonable. Also the college keeps on investing to bring other food stores in our college.

Fees and Financial Aid

I think our college offers financial aid to the ones whi cannot afford their education. Rest about loans and scholarship, I have no idea.

Campus Life

4

The campus is brilliantly architectures. There are courts for different sports like cricket, basketball, tennis, volleyball and football. There is a big ground at the end of the college which can incorporate about 10,00,000 people at one time. Thus, our fest and all important events happen over there. There are three air conditioned auditoriums which have a capacity of about 100-120 people. In these auditoriums, our debates, poem recitation, etc happens.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is really nice. It is a single accommodation room. The mess timings are flexible. Rooms are spacious enough for one student. There is one bed, a table, a chair and big almirah. Getting a hostel is a tough task foe boys since there are only two buildings and applicants are more.

Alumni/Alumna

We have just started building our alumni network( specifically USCT). Yes, they are extremely hepful and want to bring internships and good opportunities for all the students.

Exam Structure

This semester was a little chilled out since the time table was really relaxing. The previous three sems were a little hectic. Minor exams are held consecutively(6 exams in 5 days) while major( final semester exams) are a little relaxed in its schedule. Labs can be too tiring if the teacher is strict since they are held for 4 hours continuously.

Faculty

3.5

There are a variety of teachers each one having their own perspective towards teaching. Some work really hard to make us understand a particular topic and take tutorial classes to enrich us with maximum knowledge. Some test us in tutorials while some take doubts. All in one, there is a panel of teachers and no one can be too downgraded based on their interest in teaching the students. Qualification of all the teachers can not be questioned at all.

Delhi Technological University - [DTU], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
