Remarks

For MTech one can easily get admission through giving state examination, although for MTech program one can easily gets admission through management (direct admission). For application form, one can contact the management thru the website www.hithaldia.ac.in

Course Curriculum Overview

I've chosen this course because I want to pursue PhD. For MTech program, faculties are not the best, but can be managed with if studied sincerely. Faculty to student ratio is 1:7 I would say. Faculties are qualified... Although few of them are PhD, rest all have cleared MTech only. Term exams are not too hard to pass.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Placement Experience

Although from the last year that is second year, one is eligible to sit for the placements, but placements are yoo bad for MTech students. Highest package as per my view, was 400000. To be very honest, college put almost no efforts to get the students placed. My plan is to pursue PhD further.

Fees and Financial Aid

For MTech course, yearly fees is around 110000. Till now I'm not aware of any scholorship from the college, but there are certain government schemes for MTech program. One can work as Lab Assistant or even teach BTech level students to get stipend from the college.

Campus Life

College life is good but too engaging. If one has to enjoy his/her life in the campus, he/she definitely can. There arebtimely tests and events being organized like Cultural Meet, Riviera, Prayukti etc. There's a big library here with all the relevant books. Classrooms are spacious enough. Inter-sports activities are also there. There are too many students club here, like ME Club, Nivedita etc.

You can Learn life if you pursue M.tech -- trust me from all aspects.

Likes

Campus is very chill and very good infastructure. Almost everything is available inside it.
Placement opportunity is avilable here.If you work hard you can grab it either online or offline.
There are many clubs and extra curricular activities to make your mind calm .

Dislikes

Hectic schedule and you feel nostalgic here if you are newbie
Very rude Strict professor .You have to find some more time for your own work.
Most important is the peer group , if you are alone here then you cannot survive in this environment

Placement Experience:

Look there are very large audience in this campus. For this specialization thereare many competitors - B.tech , integrated m.tech and even m.tech. So on campus placements are big issue here, many seniors applied for off campus , some left and join NTPC .

First of all the placements are good. The teachers are awesome. The environment is sweet and any one can stay here very comfortably. Maximum students are very talented, hardworking and intelligent, everyone has a big aim in life.
The functions of the college at any event and at any fastival are very interesting.
The indoor games and outdoor games facilities available.

Dislikes

The building are getting old they should have to paint the buildings and decorate.
The hostel for PG students is not good specially for girls.

Placement Experience:

In M.Tech. the students are eligible for placements after second sem. The highest package is 56lpa giving by Microsoft. The average placement pakage for CSE is around 10lpa. 90 percent students getting placed.

The campus greenery I loved it the most.
The behaviour of faculty members are too good and friendly.
Infrastructure is also good like Library, Gymkhana and different auditorium and weekend movies.

Dislikes

Hostel water problem sometimes it happens.
Mess food qualities some time they make rubbish.

Placement Experience:

At the end of 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placements. 1000 of company visit campus every year in January and December month. Placement takes place in two form one in December and other in January. Like IBM, puma, ICC bank, Deloitte, ABG, Lenovo, etc. highest package is about 2.68 crore per annum, average 15lpa According to different profiles. Students should have more than 8.5 cgpa for good placements. I will join a good company after completing the degree.

Admission:

Admitted after giving and securing a good rank in the joint entrance examination. Then choosing the couse was easy in this college as this is one of the best colleges in India. I was admitted to the civil engineering department which is the oldest in the country in this college.

Remarks:

Get admission for only getting degree don't expect much. Every 2 years alumni meeting happens in our college you can find some help from old students but don't expect much from this college. After completing no one will provide job.

Remarks:

The campus of IIT Kharagpur is really good. We had a big Cricket ground, a movie theater especially for IIT KGP students. The campus has got the biggest library in ASIA.

The best institute to learn and widen technical knowledge.

Remarks:

I can't complaint about studies. But it needs to improve the food quality provided by the mess. Students selected based on the voting for several responsibilities like sports, mess, maintenance etc are not doing their job properly.

HIT HALDIA - AT A GLANCE

Okay, I've applied for 2-3 colleges(IEM Kolkata, Heritage Institute of Technology kolkata, Techno India Main Saltlake) alongwith HIT Haldia. But I choose this college because of mainly two reasons- 1)This is near my hometown. 6-7 km away from my house 2)My some school seniors are also studied here so they said me to take admission here Yes I've got rejection from many colleges also because my WBJEE and JEE main ranks are not so good. But I was selected to take admission i some colleges also but I didn't make that because of expensive fee structure and poor placements. HIT, Haldia Better then Government Colleges of West Bnegal

I have got some government colleges but the placements were worse in those and this college has a huge number placements you know.. for addmission in this college 80 percent are from WBJEE 10 percent from JEE mains and 10 percent from management Quota. The addmission process is quite smooth just fill addmission form they will verify then pay the semester fee and your addmission is done ? verification step is most important there during addmission.
