Remarks

It’s a ragging free campus. The infrastructure and humanities lab are one of the best in Kolkata. The computer department lab is also good with PC's of good quality. The college has a swimming pool, a gym, e-library, a big playground and a basketball court. Wi-Fi is available to students at all times.

Entrance Preview

I bagged a score of 88% in NATA and in 12th I scored 60.9%. NATA score is a must to take admission here in architecture. With this I had to appear for an essay writing along with a round of interview conducted on the same day. All of this had to be done in order to take admission in B.arch. Their criteria says you must posses more than 50% in 10+2 and 80% in NATA plus maths is compulsory as a subject in 12th.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It is a very vast course hence to subjects that were included are foreign business language, outdoor activity based courses and open elective courses wherein you have a choice of concepts you can study under this. I got confused while choosing the electives and I went on with what others were taking as subjects but later you can change your subjects if you feel like.

Internships Opportunities

Almost every student can get an internship from the college or via college, but the stipend may be less or may not be there.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are very good in our college. Microsoft hired nearly 2 students for 12 LPA package, while Infosys and Accenture hire the rest of the 90% of the students. Many other companies like HCL, Wipro, Snapdeal and Hike visit our campus. 95% students get placed. The highest salary 12 LPA and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. The job profile is service-oriented.

College Events

3.5

The college has societies for cultural and co-curricular activities but attendance is not given to the students if they visit another college for participating. The funds are not given to these societies as well and extra seven hundred rupees is charged as fee for no reason.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is also constantly increasing and the facilities associated with it are decreasing. It is 192,292 for an year which has to be paid every year for four consecutives.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the benefit of prospective students at AMITY, they have tied up with premier nationalized banks Oriental Bank of Commerce and Allahabad Bank. Both banks give the following advantages to students applying to AMITY.

Campus Life

3

The campus is beautiful. People are helpful. Some teachers are wonderful. The college is safe with CCTVs installed everywhere. It will transform one's life. But you got to spend more to enjoy more as they say there are nofree lunches in this world.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I am a Kolkata resident so I did not feel a need to stay at the Hostel but even if I was an outsider, I would have opted for a rented house or stay as a PG at some place because the fees for the hostel is so high that after paying for the fees you cannot afford to spend so much.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an online alumni forum where students and anyone can get to know the alumni and get in touch with them for future references. It is regularly updated with the positions and work of the alumni.

Exam Structure

We were lucky to have not studied and still score good in exams, the pattern was such that those used to study a lot could not get good marks and those who were always into activities or events scored more marks.

Faculty

4

I did not like the faculty. Most of them were average, though qualified. Some had very wonderful teaching skills and marvellous knowledge of the subject, but you should be lucky if that teacher is teaching you. Some were horribly bad. Projector/PPTS/MIC and white board were used for teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually from childhood I like to make creative things and according to that I think and draw and I always fascinated to do something about design. The curriculum prepared me to become a good architect. I feel sometimes the theory part should improve and also their teaching methods which are held by visiting faculties not our department faculties. The gap between two exams should be more then only we have some time for our preparation.

Placement Experience:

so if we talk about placements, then its currently not good but it does not means that placement is totally zero . it varies every year but currently its going down. so after 3rd year you can apply for internships and placements . and if you are in 1st or 2nd year then you can apply for free or paid internships to learn more and more to build you cv. Highest package offered was 2.68 crore rupees per annum and average package is around 18 - 20 lakhs rupees per annum. companies participated in last session was 61 and total offers made were 700. number of international offers were 19 (6 offers were more than 1 crore per annum). number of students placed in 2023 were 1750. popular recruiters were ITC limited, goldman, sachs, HUL . so those who dont get any job or they are not placed , they basically continue to become enterpreneur. my plans after completing my degree to become a famous architect.
