Remarks
For getting admission into the course BA one has to pass the class 12th examination from any recognized board or university in India. The application form for the admission and other details regarding it such as application fees and dates will be easy through the official website of the college i.e www.gods.ac.in The admission occurs basically in rounds in the first round students with 70% or above get admission and then if seats stay vacant, students with 60% and above get admission and this process goes on till the seats get filled.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have done my senior secondary in a non-medical stream from the CBSE board, but I always wanted to study Social Sciences and was a CBSE merit holder in the Social Sciences in class 10th examinations, but in my town, there was no school offering the Social Sciences subject at the senior secondary level, so I decided to change my stream after the completion of my schooling and got myself admitted here at SD College Chandigarh due to its name in academics and extra-curricular activities. The faculty to student ratio varies from class to class for different subjects that you have taken, but in my classes, it remains 1:30 on an average. Most of the faculty members are the holders of M.Phil and Ph.D. from reputed universities in the country such as JNU, Panjab University, etc., and they knew a lot about their subject and give very detailed and easy explanations to the students. The end-semester exams are of moderate level and are easy to pass in my opinion.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course is affordable as its fees are just 26000 per year and are worth doing at SD College Chandigarh. The college also provides scholarships to the students, but I don't know much about it as I am not availing of any scholarship yet, but you can get information for the same in the college's prospectus.
Campus Life
and sports activities on the campus even recently in March, 2022 the college won the prestigious Shadi Lal Overall Trophy for Men's in sports of Panjab University. Also, this college of Panjab University has a maximum number of college clubs and societies that help in upskilling the students. The college has clubs and societies like Enactus, Rotaract, Red Ribbon Club, Green Campus Committee, Commerce and Management Club, Sarv Saksham (Theatre Group), Literary Society, Economics Society, etc.
