Remarks
Admission to BTech Biotechnology is given on the basis of marks obtained in class 12th. Haryana state quota is 85% and all India quota is 15%. The application form comes out on the official website. Application fees are not that much. If you're selected, your name will be on the merit list and you will receive a call from the college for submitting fees and further formalities.
Course Curriculum Overview
Biotechnology is a pretty good field. Faculty members are good. They are all experienced and good in their particular fields. Like any college, you will come across bad teachers. There's nothing you can do about that. The student-teacher ratio is also fine. There are a lot of girls in biotechnology as compared to boys.
Placement Experience
Companies like Infosys etc do visit the campus. The average placement is around 3.5 lakhs per year. About 80% of students get placed. Placements are not too good, especially in core biotechnology. For CSE etc, it's fine.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee is 85,000 per year. Around 45,000 for the first sem and 40,000 for the second semester. Hostel fees are around 24,000 including a refundable deposit of 3,000-4,000. Earlier hostel fees used to be only 14,000 with a 3,000-4,000 refundable amount. Mess fees are 100 per day but they'll charge you a minimum of around 2,000 at least per month even if you don't eat anything.
Campus Life
The campus is very big. At times, I even think it's too big. The main gate from the hostel is 1.5 km. The building where classes take place is around 1.25km. The main market is around 700-800m. You can find almost all the books in the department library. There is a big sports ground, and the campus is lush green. An annual fest is conducted in May. Though it would've been good if there were more clubs and societies.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel looks like a typical government hostel. They're okayish. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed. Meals are not very good either but mess food is as good as that of home. There are washrooms and a water filter on every floor.
