Remarks

Eligible students are selected upon their JEE main ranks.2021 cutoff for JEE main to get admission into mechanical engineering in NIT calicut is 97 percentile. I have got EWS reservation but I got selected into my college based on my AIR only. Please apply for JEE mains and advanced and try your best.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because there are ample opportunities in this course. Term exams are monthly occurring and give ample time to study. Exams are not difficult to pass but are difficult to top. Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are open and compulsory for all 3rd-year students. Roles offered are mostly assistant engineers and the stipend is nearly 10k to 80k per month. We can also apply to companies like amazon, google for internships.

Placement Experience

The highest package in 2021 is 50lpa. The lowest package is 6 LPA. The average package is 10 lpa.JP MORGAN, INFOSYS, etc are top recruiting companies.87 percentage students got placements and the remaining students opted for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike is not so much per year because it is a central government college. Obviously, it demands fewer fees than other colleges. A large scale of scholarships are available but you have to go for it and apply before the deadlines of scholarships.

Campus Life

Our annual fest is RAGAM which is a very grand event and it is conducted in the month of January every year. Expresso is widely run by our students. Classrooms are very well equipped with most of the facilities. Sports facilities are too good.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility in our college is just average. Wifi is provided by our college but with frequent disconnections and is reachable till only hostel only. Mess food is hygenic but tastes really bland. Registration process is very simple with some paper work involved in it.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
