IIT Mandi was ranked 31st among the best engineering colleges by the national institutional ranking framework in 2020. Since computer science is one of the most in demand courses in today's world many students pursuing JW decide to pursue this career and shortly this college for the application. IIT Mandi recorded high placement records in my year of study. The recruiting companies included the Isha, Oyo rooms, TCS research, internet academy, Khosla Labs, adverb, future first, Finisar, Larsen and toubro, Infosys cognizant, palc networks, Samsung Noida Wipro, time tooth, Kisan hub, Amazon, Capgemini Goldman Sachs, Siemens, etc. Other recruiters were codenation, delivery, play simple, etc. 30 students for hired for profiles like analyst, applications engineer, member of technical staff, associate applications developer, assistant technical scientist, graduate engineer trainee software developer engineer, business analyst, software engineer, young technical engineer, etc. The highest package was 85 lakh while the average package was 16 lakh per annum

IIT Mandi offers need based scholarships according to the previous academic record and the annual family income of the candidate. Scholarship is offered and funded by the ministry of social justice and empowerment for the students of BTech belonging from the SC category. However, the merit come means scholarship is for the general category and OBC category students. 25% of such students are offered a fee waiver along with the monthly allowance of thousand rupees. Students ineligible for the scholarship can apply for the ICICI bank student loan with very low interest. After the placement it is very easy to repay the loan in a few years.

The campus life here is extremely cheerful and social. Students indulge in several activities for recreation and refreshments. It has important buildings and support services like a botanical garden korma stationery shop korma a campus school korma canteen, cafe, banks and ATMs, library, etc. It also has a football ground, a cricket ground, and a huge sports complex. It has 3 canteen and 4 residential complexes. It also has a hockey ground commerce swimming pool cover and a megastar mini Mart. It has clubs and societies like the technical society the literary society, the sports society, and the general affairs which includes hiking and trekking.
