BIT Sindri- Top State government college of Jharkhand.

Students are required to give JEE Mains examination and have an AIR Rank. After JEE Mains examination results are published, JCECEB will release a notification for admission in BIT Sindri. Students are required to submit their JEE AIR based on which a state CML(common merit list) is prepared. Branches are given based on CML rank. The counselling process will be the same as JEE counseling. It will have a first-round, second round, and a third(spot) round. Application notification will be released after the publication of JEE Mains results. The application fee will be Rs 400(boys) & Rs 250(girls). Reservation benefits will be given to EWS, OBS, SC, ST candidates both in admission as well as fees. For SC/ST girl student Tuition fees are negligible.

The computer science engineering course is good in BIT Sindri and its placement scenario is improving day by day. There are 10-14 faculties in the CSE branch and the faculty-student ratio in CSE is 1:40/ Faculties are well qualified and have a good experience. The teaching method is good and some faculties will motivate you to go into the research field. They will not burden you with lots of assignments and projects. Their teaching methodology is simple & good. The exam will be conducted timely and it will be notified 1-2 weeks before the exam. Students will have two mid-semester and two end-semester exams. Some subjects are scoring and quite easy to get good grades. In some subjects, you will have to make effort to get good grades.

There are many internship opportunities given to the students from the 3rd year. Internships are given in various domains like software development intern, project management intern, consultancy, etc. This year in 2021 Amazon has given internships to students with a stipend of 50,000 per month. Tata steel also gives internship+stipend to many students every year. Some of these interns got pre-placement offers from these companies. There are two projects (minor and major) given in the 4th year. Better the project better will be the placement and internship opportunities.

Campus placement in our college is good and it is improving day by day. Students are eligible for campus placement from 6th semester. Many companies visit the campus. Some of these companies are- Amazon,Samsung,Tata steel,Tata power, Cognizant, Wipro,TCS,Tech Mahindra, Yamaha, Deloitte,L&T, Aditya Birla group, Vedanta,etc. In CSE & IT branch there are 95-100% placements. Core branches also have a good placement percentage. Highest placement in 2021 is 28 L.p.a by Google (off-campus) & 14 L.p.a to 11 students by Samsung (on-campus) & 10-11 L.p.a by Tata Steel (on-campus) Lowest package is 4 L.p.a by TCS. Many students who are interested in research also opt in various competitive exams like GATE, GRE,etc & a no. of students from BIT qualify in these examinations.

I am a General candidate so I don't avail myself any scholarship but students whose family has a salary of less than 2.5 lakh per annum will get numerous scholarships. You will get 4-5 types of scholarships during your engineering period. Some of the scholarships are given by PM Kalyan, Amazon, Siemens, Alumni Scholarship, etc.

Life at the campus is good. Senior-junior interaction is also good. Bitsaa is the name of the annual fest conducted here. Tech fest is also conducted by different clubs. The library is fully renovated now and it contains every book you need during your graduation years. There is no need of purchasing any extra books you just need to issue them from the library and return it after your work is over. The classroom is well & good and has a good teacher-student ratio. Sports competition is conducted every year by the college. Separate Sports courts for games like volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, cricket are available here. There is enough space in front of each hostel that you can also play badminton, volleyball in your hostel area too. There are many clubs in college like- the coding club, art club, photography club, model club, eco-club, LEO club, ISLETS club, and many more clubs. ISLETS & HNCC clubs have websites that are designed & run by students of BIT.

Hostels have all the basic facilities you need during your stay. Meal quality is OK. You will get food four times i.e Breakfast, lunch, tea & snacks (in the evening) and dinner. The mess will give food on all days of the week. Non-Veg is given four days a week i.e Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. You can opt for Non-Veg OR Veg according to your eating habits. The first day you enter BIT Sindri, the hostel will be given to you according to a lottery system. Hostels will have 4 students in the first year, 3 students in the second year, 2 students in the third year, and a single student in the final year. Some PG is available outside the campus but I will suggest you opt for a college hostel because you will get better food & lifestyle inside the campus with all the basic facilities.
