IIT Goa Review

Completing the graduation program from an IIT is a dream for every student who wants to become an engineer and I was also one of them. I am an average student and I have secure 78% in my graduation. I was also able to clear GATEbut my GATE marks were not as per the top IIT college of India. I wanted to complete my M.Tech from IIT so as per my preference I found IIT Goa as the college is a new generation IIT and I was able to meet the cutoff criteria and placement is good as per IIT standards.

AS of my personal experience, the curriculum of IIT Goa is very good. It follows all the industrial standards and all the international norms are followed. The curriculum is made flexible so that it can be updated according to the latest industrial norm. The curriculum is the proper mixture of technology and management work.

The internship program helps us to understand the corporate world working culture and the internship provides us with a good opportunity to implement our knowledge in a professional environment. To take part in internship we have to register our name with the placement committee of the college and the average stipends for internship program is around 45k.

IIT Goa is a new age IIT but the college focus very well on placement. The college placement follows all the guidelines and standards and quality is as per the IITs. The college placement committee plays a very important role as the committee is fully responsible for inviting the companies for placement and the committee is successful in inviting good companies to the campus. The highest package for our batch was around 40 LPA and the average salary package was around 14 LPA. 75+ companies visited our campus during the placement drive.

The scholarship program is similar to other IITs the scholarship is available on a merit basis and a scholarship for SC/ST/PWD is also available. The campus life of the college is good. The college infrastructure is well maintained and the classrooms are also very good and properly ventilated. The college follows no ragging rules very strictly as the seniors are cooperative and friendly. The library is good and is the house of many international books and international research journals are also available. The campus of IIT Goa is very lively. The college organizes small competitions such as debate, quizzes, singing and drama.

The hostel is well maintained. Rooms are cleaned and proper ventilation is available. The rooms have basic facilities like beds, study tables and almirahs. The hostel provides 24 hours of water and power supply. The hostel mess food is average(it need to be improved). The menu keeps on changing but the taste is average. The hostel decorum is very well maintained by the hostel wardens and staff. The hostel provides us with all the basic facilities as per our needs.

The faculty is good and very experienced guest faculty also visit the campus which gives us a good learning experience. The faculty is of PhD level. The faculty are masters in their respective subjects.
