Admission into the MBA program is through multiple MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT, NMAT, and CMAT. The cutoff for CAT is generally 85%, while XAT is around 75%. For NMAT, the cutoff was 225. The application process is simple, with forms available on the official website. The form fees are between Rs. 1500-2000/-. There is a special quota for reservations. Overall the admission process is smooth; however, prompt replies regarding issues can be an added improvement.

I chose the MBA course for the dynamic curriculum, which covers topics of Marketing and Finance with a good focus on Operations. The faculty: student ratio is at par with other colleges. All the faculty have suitable qualifications and come with extensive industry experience. The teaching methodology follows global standards. The curriculum is divided into three trimesters per year. During each trimester, we have 8-10 subjects that have a continuous evaluation in the form of class tests, presentations, case studies, and assignments. The final trimester exams are conducted online due to the COVID pandemic. The exam standards are good.

Internship opportunities are good at K J Somaiya. There is also an ample number of Live Projects to choose from. All internships are provided on campus through GD and the interview process. Stipend ranges from 5000 to 500000 depending on the brand and role offered. Projects generally last for three months and contain topics related to the domain, with marketing roles in a good number.

The campus placements start from the 4th Trimester. Reputed companies from various sectors come for placements regularly. Marketing and Finance profiles are in more number. The highest package is around 30 LPA. The average package is 10 LPA. We have 100% placements.

The tuition fee for two years MBA is 18 Lakh with the hostel and additional expenses adding 3-3.5 Lakhs. The cost is hiked every year, and the management decides the policy. K J Somaiya offers scholarships for those with lower income and deserving students. The job offers at the campus are reasonable, with an average salary touching 10 LPA and the highest salary upwards of 30 LPA.

We have Melange as our official fest. Apart from this, the college has over 14 committees ranging from Marketing to cultural. Each committee has its fests, case study competitions, and corporate guest lectures. The college has partnered with various databases and journals to provide research material for studies and knowledge sharing. The college is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities ranging from IT-enabled classrooms and lecture halls and seminar rooms. All the committees are run by students.

Spacious hostels are provided to those seeking campus accommodation. The food quality is good, but only a vegetarian menu is available. There are a lot of PGs available outside for staying. There are ample options for food outside the campus.

K J Somaiya conducts GD/CD PI process for admissions. GD topics are primarily based on current affairs ranging from politics to the latest technologies and their significance in the Indian market. Sometimes Case Discussion is conducted instead of GD, and a corporate case is given, which must be discussed in front of the panel. The primary criteria for admission are the entrance exam percentile which needs to be well above the cutoff mentioned. Apart from this, 10th, 12th, and Graduation marks are considered. Extra points are given for professional courses/degrees and full-time Work experience. For preparation, I had read newspapers articles case reports and gone through my resume correctly. Also, focus on the essential interview and HR questions.
