Remarks

The college is not a profitable organisation. Neither is it a political haven. Free from all socio economic political religion biases it makes us Man not a successful money minting machine.

Entrance Preview

Admission test. I scored 32 out of 50. It was 64% then I was called for interview and asked a few questions on why I chose this college. They were satisfied with my answers and finally I was selected.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course is run by Calcutta university, Though the college is autonomous presently, syllabus has been the same before. The style and technique of teaching is unique here. The faculty members are just awesome. Above all it offers a friendly atmosphere.

Internships Opportunities

The students from science background get ample offers from reputed companies. We from literature background were offered jobs in mass communication. Some of us joined as interns in multiple companies, some choose to continue their masters. Now this college offers masters in a few subjects.

Placement Experience

5

B.Sc students were offered jobs by Accenture, HCL, TCS, WIPRO, Techno India etc. As a starting salary they offered different pay structure ranging from 3.5 lakhs to 8 lakhs per annum then in 2008. Now this range starts from 5 lakhs.

College Events

4

Every year our college conducts three big events like Annual sports and cultural events, winter fest, Inter college and Hostels fest. It is a great fun to participate in them. Specially the inter hostel and intra hostels fest are just awesome. These can only be found here in this college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is the cheapest enterns of fees. One can never dream of reading in such college with hostel library sports auditorium and a huge greenery as in Narendrapur at a very cheap cost. Not only that but also the meritorious students those who are from poor economic background enjoy fees exemption.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loans are not necessary here. If a meritorious student gets chance here he will be provided all kinds of help he needs. This college offers a home to a huge number of merit yet poor students.

Campus Life

5

Extra curricular activities are always an essential part of this institution. Pupils enjoy their course through these activities, They spend more time in group work social activity and sports debate etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are always home away home. One will never feel cut aloof from one's own house. It has healthiest accompdation and unique surrounding with pure pollution and ragging free atmosphere.

Alumni/Alumna

We are all brothers here. Inspite of our age difference we never feel the distance between seniors and juniors. We are like a great happy family. Even the faculty members and monks are so dear and friendly that hardly anybody feels a sense of discord here.

Exam Structure

Exams are never hectic here. The bimonthly exams are blessings for many. These exams have turned out to be semesters which are motivational. Lab facility in this college is super and one can feel the ultra modern and friendly atmosphere here working in them.

Faculty

5

Standards of faculty is the best in Kolkata, the faculties of English chemistry and statistics are top in the entire west Bengal. Rest are better than any other colleges in Kolkata.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

We have 2 semesters after 6 months in 1 year. Exams are comfortable for the students who study the subject. It is difficult for those who do not study.
