IIT Guwahati Review

During my research, I found that there are very few colleges that provide a good curriculum in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in the future and there is lots of scope in this industry. In my research, I realised that IIT Guwahati provides one of the best curriculum in AI and Robotics. The college placement is also very good, the faculty standard is also very high and the college provides ample opportunities in research work and project work. To be part of IIT Guwahati candidate must clear the GATE exam ad must secure at least 60% marks in B.Tech followed by GD and PI round and appear for COAP counselling after clearing the GATE exam. If the candidate has any kind of work experience then your application is given a little more weightage.

The curriculum is according to the latest industrial standards and properly compete with the international standards and norms. The curriculum is divided into 4 semesters. The first 2 semesters impart students with the knowledge and basic fundamentals and concepts of AI and Robotics, its development, the importance of AI and Robotics in today's world and what are the impact of AI in industrial development, etc. The last 2 semesters include internship, research work, working on the advancement of robotics and AI systems, etc.

The internship is part of the curriculum. The college placement committee helps us to select the companies for internships. The college also promotes research activity a lot if any of the candidates want to skip the internship program can do it but he/she should involve in research activity otherwise internship is mandatory. The stipends of the candidate range according to the tenure and vary from company to company but it usually starts from Rs. 18000/- to Rs. 1.50,000/-.

The college placement records are wonderful. Like other IITs IIT Guwahati also provides high packages for deserving candidates. The college placement cell is helpful and supportive they guide and help us during the placement drive and make sure that each and every participating student is selected. The highest package for our batch went up to 95 LPA and the average package went up to 50 LPA. Most of the students receive pre-placement offers during the internship program. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Chalo, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Groww, Razorpay, Apple, DRDO, etc participated in the campus placement drive.

The college provides scholarships for merit students. Scholarship for SC/ST/PWD students is also available. The education loan facility is also available one can avail of the education loan facility with the help of the admission department. I was not fortunate enough to receive the scholarship. The college campus life is very good. The college provides an ample environment for studies. The college is also quite popular for its events and fests like ALCHERINGA-cultural fest is 2nd largest fest of India, TECHNICHE- is a techno-management fest, SPIRIT-sports fest for which students are quite excited for. The library of the college is very big and full of lots of books and international research journals. The classrooms are big and properly ventilated. The college campus also provides high-speed WiFi connectivity.

The rooms are available on single occupancy. The rooms are cleaned on every alternative day. The college takes care of students hygiene. The mess food is good and tasty. The rooms are equipped with beds, study tables and almirahs for every student. The hostel provides 24 hours high-speed internet facility. The college is equipped with all kinds of facilities and take care of the comfort of students. The hostel warden and the staff are quite cooperative and supportive.

The faculty of the college is of high standards means every faculty is of PhD level with great international research experience. The college does not compromise the quality of the faculty. The faculty are masters in their respective subjects. The guest faculties also visit the colleges and they also share their experiences with students which is very beneficial for us.
