Remarks

The campus has shrunk in size considerably. Since 2yrs pending construction. Currently going through a transformation phase. Would be also better if there is more sports and cultural facilities, like a ground in campus or off.

Entrance Preview

AIPMT rank 800, KCET rank 49G55. Best government medical college available in Karnataka. Also pleasant and mild weather of Bangalore.

Internships Opportunities

Internship really greatest learning experience. Really blessed to have worked in hospitals like Victoria, Bowring and Lady Curzon, Minto eye hospital and others.Stipend as of 2015 November Rs. 20,000.

Placement Experience

4.5

Being a respected college with leading and sought out doctors in the state, recommendations carry weight. But undergraduates seek post graduation. Opportunities before employment opportunities.

College Events

4

Intra college fest - chrysalis with athletic meet, sports events, cultural events, also medical, literature events. Inter college fest -COBALT SKIES Budget Rs 20-25lakhs. Participated by all medical and dental colleges in Karnataka, miscellaneous colleges in Bangalore, some colleges in T. N and Kerala. RGUHS - University events spread throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Under General merit - 6000rs each semester. 6 months SC/ST - 1400 rs each semester. Few scholarships available ranging from 10,000 per annum to 50,000 per annum. Exam fees - 4000 to 6000 each year.

Fees and Financial Aid

State government scholarship 10,000 rs per annum. Requires an aggregate academic performance of 60% each year.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio 70-100 women in a batch of 250 undergraduatesHostel parties are discouraged. Although small groups of students can party without causing much ruckus. Generally larger party venues are never in hostel. Gender /racial intolerance have never been heard about. Some friction was common between hostelites and localites until a few years ago. Politics is rarely discussed as medicos just don't really have the time.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni and seniors are always very cooperative and Have helped built the campus infrastructure and also employment opportunities, funds for fest, academic opportunities etc.

Exam Structure

1 set of university exams each academic year. 3 sets of internal examinations each academic year .Examinations are sparsely distributed although the curriculum itself is hectic as expected, not for the feeble hearted.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very comprehensive and relevant for exams but not for real world applications. I feel let the parts of body I was specially fascinating so I like anatomy very much and we also got a very good teacher, the curriculum is very good for examinations however the real wall applications of this curriculum is very little, they should be more real life applications and whatever the latest technology than studies are happening the student should get the latest info about them, timing between two exams in an internal semester should be a little more such as a day or two because we do not get time to prepare the subjects curriculum very well for the examination.

There is no such special curriculum just i want to be a doctor so i chosed mbbs. It's a very good curriculum as we have both book knowledge and practical knowledge at same time as we have to go hospital in morning to see cases qnd at evening to learn about it. There is no such improvement is required. We don't have to give soo much exam but the syllabus we have to cover its not much

Course Curriculum Overview:

Same curriculum as the NMC is followed . In the beginning ears there wont be much exposure clinically like any other hospitals later on in 3rd amd 4th year there is more clinical exposure and patient interaction. According to me the exam level of 1st year is a bit tough as it is a changing phase from 12th to college and everything is new later on we get adjusted and find it easy and will understand how to phase the exam and how it is different from the previous exams of 11th or 12th . Only one exam will be for a academic year which includes the whole syllabus of that year
