Remarks

The admissions procedures in IGNOU is very smooth. The university provides 2 times admission per year in July & December. Admission on my course was direct, no entrance exam was taken but a minimum of 50% was required in graduation. Admission group discussions were held by the University & the course details were given by the facilities. They helped us very much by organising such meetings where we can query our doubts. The application forms were available online which was pretty convenient also the application dates began in July first week as per schedule. I belong to the general category so I don't available any reservation benefits. The admissions process ka very eco- friendly so no requirement for any change.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I decided to go with MA in English because I m good at English & I want to become a professor or teacher in English. The faculty was quite good & decent. There were a lot of students in my class. About 50 to be precise. The teachers were helping in nature too. The faculties were at least M.phil or P.hd in their respective fields. Their knowledge guided us at every point of the course. The teaching method was amazing, they elaborate in the simplest & basic way. The term exams were not semester wise. Our term end exams were annually & mostly the dedicated student's scores a lot & were good experience to appear in those exams.

Internships Opportunities

5

There is various apprentice course in our college which provides a stipend. The ITI course provided by the University helped the students to get internships of 6 months to 12 months in well known MNCs, private organisations and also the government sector. Few students of our college got placed in Indian railways for internship in their related apprentice trade with ITI certification. All India internships are provided by IGNOU. The roles provided started from associates to even higher levels. There are some projects for promoting art, poverty and self employment opportunities in a society run by our college and university.

Placement Experience

5

In our university basically, a student became eligible for placement in the last year or last semester of his/her course. There are various private companies and organisations that visited our college for placement annually. Some of them were - redbus , byjus , unacademy etc. Last year about 53% were placed by these companies with great packages. The average annual package was 14 lakhs and the highest was 25 lakhs by byjus and unacademy. I planned to become a professor or teacher in any University soon. There are quite a few other plans too like currently I m preparing for the entrance exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike is a genuine reason regarding students not opting for higher education but the fees structure in my university & college was reasonable and affordable. The university provided more focus on education than the fees. I completed my post-graduation in 11000 which is reasonable & affordable from a recognised university. There are various scholarships that our university provide for first-class postgraduates & graduates, let it be fee concession or financial services regarding paying in EMIs the fees . The placement opportunities are various in the college campus too with great environment

Campus Life

5

The annual fests in IGNOU are basically occurred during the time of convocation. The recently pass out students gathered their respective degrees and there are programmes held like dances ( cultural form mostly ) . The books were available in both form i.e hand copy & soft copy too . Those who are demanding hard copy books gets their books on their given address by speed post by University . The environment in the classroom was very polite & eco-friendly . There were also sports and curriculum activities held at the college level after every 2-3 months. Inter college competitions in sports & debates, speeches were held on regular basis. There are quite a few clubs, groups and websites ruled by students of IGNOU in social media for helping each other .

Interview Experience

5

So after my admission there were various group discussions which were organised by the college & University . The topics of group discussions were regarding the course details in elaborated version with the chapters discussions in brief and also the upcoming steps after admissions like submission of assignments . The process of admission was online & very smooth and convenient . The criteria was to be graduate by atleast 50% in our university . For the preparation of these group discussions, the coordinators helped us alot and guided us every moment . There knowledge and command in their respective fields helped us at every step of admission and course

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant and covers all the history topics comprehensively. The study material is very good as many upsc aspirants and students preparing for competitive exams refer it. Though the curriculum can be improved by limiting and only adding the essential topics in it. There is too much of unnecessary information which makes it difficult to understand at times.
