Multiple opportunities are provided

MBA in Business Analytics is a newly introduced course by IIM Ranchi this year. Many applicants were sceptical while applying to this course. I was interested in doing my MBA with my majors in Analytics but seeing this new course I am clear unlike others to choose this college. All the course details are available on the college website along with the curriculum. There are no separate application fees needed. The course selection is as part of CAP rounds. A little more promotion of Business Analytics course should be done so that it reaches many.

The course curriculum is nicely structured as per the industry requirements. It includes a complete analytics curriculum starting from the very basics which makes it easy for any non enthusiastic person to turn around. My previous experience as Python Developer made me attracted to analytics and so I chose this course. Faculty to student ratio is nearly 1:~4-5 for this batch (considering only IS faculty and BA students) All the faculty are highly qualified in the domain and they carry rich teaching experience. They follow very practical approaches in teaching. The course is spread across 2 years with 6 terms in complete. Each term is for nearly 12-14 weeks. Proper listening to class regularly and practising the classwork would be sufficient for easy passing in exams. I don't think passing is a difficult task for once who got admission into the college.

The college provides good internship opportunities as part of the mandatory summer internship program. The packages provided are also in good numbers. The placement committee provides good line project opportunities from multiple company's which helps in practical exposure to the business.

The placements of the college are excellent with good year on year growth in numbers. The mean and median of this year students would have grown by double digit. IIM Ranchi is one among the few colleges to finish their summer placements early with a good average package. The finals saw nearly 100-150 companies visiting and summers saw nearly 200 companies.

The college fee is 250000 per term. With a course consisting 6 terms, it becomes 15L. The fees also have an additional 1L as admission fees and nearly 50K for other charges. The college provides scholarships on merit and needs basis. There are other national and state scholarships which the students are eligible for. The college prepares students such that they are industry ready. The college provides good placement opportunities with mean lying at around 15-16L per year in finals. I was placed with a package of 50K per month as part of my summer internship program.

The academics for our batch are online still because of prevailing COVID. But few were allowed to stay in a hostel based on the necessity of students. Every person enjoys their start here at college. Complete campus is student driven with the majority of decisions making taking place for the benefit of students. The college has year long activities going on. Major technical and cultural fests of the college are Agon and Rush. These are conducted in the month of February. All the academic books will be available for students.

We are provided with single sharing rooms with either attached or common washroom based on type of room. The food provided at mess is manageable with few best dishes and few not so good dishes. But the food provided is hygienic and nutritious.

The admission process included just a PI. The PI mainly starts with the introduction and the follow-up questions on then and then goes on with typical MBA entrance questions such as why MBA and also include questions related to work ex if any. There were multiple follow-up questions for all answers. They tested truth in the answers i was giving. I was very clear in any answer i was giving and this helped me in clearing the interview.
