I took the state entrance examination known as CEE(common entrance examination) . I scored 124.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was the standard course that was offered by Gauhati University (one of the most reputed universities of the nation). But now I have learnt that the course has been changed to that offered by technical university.
Internships Opportunities
I did my internship in IOCL (Noonmati, Asaam) at the end of my 6th semester. Though it did not offer any stipends, but the learning experience was a decent one.
Placement Experience
We were the 4th batch of the college and although the placements were not upto our expectations, still a number of students got placed in companies like Shriram Transport, Wipro etc.
College Events
The annual college fest "Glitters" is held in the month of January. Its one of the biggest and best events of the region. From cultural shows to technical events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
On my time the total course fee was 300000 INR (for 4 years) which needed to be paid in installments half yearly. Now the fees has been slightly increased.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college, being a reputed one, education loans can be availed from a lot of banks(like SBI) to study in it. Though there were no such scholarships during my days, I am not aware if the college has introduced any such programs now.
Campus Life
The campus life is great. Those four years have been the best years of my life till date. Annual sports, cultural events, technical events. Everything is arranged in a grand manner. There is absolute intolerance for discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. The management makes sure that each student is given his/her due based on the merit and nothing else.
Alumni/Alumna
There is an alumni association and an alumni meeting is being held on the first Sunday of every year. There are a lot of agendas planned which hopefully will bear sweet fruits soon.
Exam Structure
The course is based on semester exams. Also class test and mid term exams are held regularly. But its not that hectic. The labs are held regularly though they aren't hectic.
