Remarks

There was no entrance exam or interview, it was based on a first come first serve basis. The application form, application fees and application dates details are available on the college website. No reservation benefits availed, but students from OBC / SST category can opt for reservations. The admission process is systematic and No changes are needed.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

One of my seniors suggested I choose the course. There were 40 students in my class, per semester there were 3 subjects including practicals and 4 faculty members for the BJMC course. The faculty members were masters holders in the same field, and some were PhD. The exams were conducted per semester and the questions were not so difficult nor easy. Faculty members help students with the question pattern and possible questions.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

For the students of journalism and mass communication, the college provides internships in different media houses like Doordarshan, Amar Ujala and Dainik Jagran. It totally depends on students performance for a stipend. During the course tenure, the college and faculty ask students to prepare projects such as short film making, news writting, video editing projects.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was rs. 27,500 per semester and it can be paid both in instalments and one time. The college provides different internship opportunities, for journalism and mass communication students they provide internships at Doordarshan, Amar Ujala and Dainik Jagran. Initially it is unpaid internships but later based on students performance it turns into full time paid ones.

Campus Life

4

There are several cultural and technical fests conducted in college, 1. CARPEDIUM is our annual fest conducted in March end. 2. MODERN YOVA MANCH is a mock parliament event conducted in the first week of February. 3. Techista is a technical fest conducted in the month of November. There's a library in college with books related to courses provided in the college. There's no project in the classroom but it has AC in it. For sports, the college conducts inter college sports competitions. There's no in house sports fest. There are different club for students, sports, cultural, academic and photography club.

Interview Experience

4

Yes, there was an interview held in order to get an idea about how I choose to be a part of that course. The process of admission was a first come first serve process. The faculty had informed me about the possible questions that can be asked during an interview so I had prepared accordingly.

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
