Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because the curriculum includes both technical subjects and practical components, which I felt would help me build my skills. It covers key areas needed for jobs or further studies, like programming, system design, and project work. The syllabus is well planned, but I feel it could include more updated content and industry-relevant tools. Teaching methods can also improve with more hands-on sessions and interactive classes. We usually have two exams each semester — mid-sem and end-sem. Some are easy, while others are tricky depending on the subject and how well we’ve followed the lectures.
Placement Experience
Placement starts from the 5th semester. Companies like SBI, Kotak Bank, TCS, and other have visited. The highest package was around ?6 LPA, and the average is about ?3–4 LPA. Around 30%–40% of students get selected, mainly in tech roles, also in accounting. After my degree, I plan to pursue higher studies as well as preparing for job roles so I can take my studies and career side by side.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm pursuing a professional course, and the fee here is quite affordable compared to other colleges that offers similar programs. I pay around ?34,000 per semester, which comes to about ?68,000 per year. This covers the tuition and all other compulsory fees. I haven’t taken any scholarships, but some of my friends have. I’m not sure about the exact amount, but I think it’s around ?5,000 . As for students in other courses like B.Com pay less — one of my friends pays ?18,000 per semester, so ?36,000 per year. Since it's not a professional course it's understandable. Overall, I feel the fee is reasonable for the quality of education we receive.
Campus Life
Our main fests are carpadium (annual) and TECHIESTA (technical). The library has a good range of books and journals. Classrooms have Wi-Fi. There are sports like volleyball and basketball and other. Also clubs for music, and dance, which make student life active and fun.
Admission
I applied to a other colleges but I got rejected from some and in some I passed still I didn't go for them as my parents wanted me to pursue this course, but I chose this one mainly because it’s an all-girls college, which made me feel more comfortable and focused. The fee was also affordable, and the course matched what my parents wanted. The admission process was simply an entrance exam, and everything went smoothly.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is good, and most teachers are approachable. If we have doubts, they’re usually open to help but not after classes. I personally liked my BCA faculty members because of their clear explanation and way of teaching that is very professional. We have two main exams per semester — mid-sem and end-sem. Some subjects are easy, others are really tough. A few students do fail, maybe due to poor preparation. The course is quite relevant, especially for a professional program, though a little updating could help.
Night Life
We have a cafeteria (9 AM–4:30 PM), and library (9 AM–5 PM). Public areas shut by 6 PM. Hostel entry is allowed till 6 PM. Inside hangouts include the lawn and café. Outside spots include Fun Republic and Marine Drive. The area is safe till early evening.
