Remarks

The Entrance Examination was there for the year 2019. Overall 75% is required, and a minimum of 80% marks is required in Mathematics. The application form was available on the official website of the University.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was really passionate about Economics, and Jadavpur University was the right place for me as it is an eminent institution excelling in Economics. I want to pursue more about Economics, as in Jadavpur University, the course is research-oriented.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 1000 per year

Placement Experience

The students become eligible for campus placements at the beginning of their postgraduate third semester. The names of a few companies who visit during placements are KPMG, Deloitte, Genpact, HSBC, HDFC, etc. The highest package is around 13LPA, while the average packages range between 6-7 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is very minimal, which is structured keeping in mind the different income groups from which the students hail. We have scholarship opportunities for marginalized students that are very easily accessible.

Campus Life

The campus life is very wholesome, the students have a lot to delve and diverge in apart from studies. Jadavpur Univesity offers a lot of academic and non-academic clubs and activities, in which the students can take part and enhance their skills.

The teachers are very friendly. Supply of clean drinking water is available always. Rooms are large, clean, fitted with lights and fans. There's also mic available for large classrooms. The rooms have their specific numbers.

One of the best Girl's College in Town.

Remarks:

No negative comments. The college is one of its own of a kind. It is surrounded by a plethora of greenery which helps the college to be brimmed in fresh air. 24×7. There's no problem at all. The transportation and communication is also of top notch.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score. The cutoff in the internal exam is around 70% for General Category and for CUET, the cutoff varies yearly....Read More
