Remarks

To apply for the medical colleges in India, one have to clear the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. It is a 720 marks exam consisting of 180 questions having 4 marks for each question. The questions are asked from physics, chemistry and biology. The cutoff of HBTMC college for General category for state quota is around 605-620. The admission process is fairly simple if you are well prepared with the documents like Aadhar card, NEET scorecard, somicile certificate etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose MBBS over any other profession for different reasons. I was very fascinated towards medical healthcare system by realizing the importance of doctors and medical staff in a healthy society. MBBS is a 4.5 yrs degree containing 9 semesters which have different subjects in different years. The faculties teach us from basics to advanced level once taken a particular topic with the maximum efforts. They are really cooperative and friendly with the students. Most of the faculties have done MD in their respective subjects while some have qualified with even higher degrees. The faculty: student ratio is descent with one faculty over 25 students. The semester and prelim exams are taken on time and are of medium difficult levels.

Internships Opportunities

4

It is mandatory for every medical student to do 1 yr internship after completing MBBS degree. Student can do internship in the department he wishes to do. Generally students do their internship from the department they would like to pursue post graduation from. Students can do it by either joining with the government or private hospitals. The stipend offered by the hospitals to students is nearly 15,000 per month in Maharashtra.

Placement Experience

4.5

After completing 4.5 yrs of MBBS, every student has to complete 1 yr of internship in a department he wishes to do. Most of the students appear for the NEET-PG exam to pursue post graduation while some start their job at government or private hospitals. There is a high demand for medical professionals all around the country and suddenly increased especially during this Covid era. So there is no any unemployment for doctors.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is variable for the students based on their parent's income and caste they belong from. The fee for General category students is nearly 1,00,000 ; 50,000 for EWS ; 10,000 for SC/ST. Many scholarships and freeships are available for the students coming from low income block by the state government like Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulk Shishyavrutti Yojana, etc. Once student completes his MBBS, he has many job opportunities in private and government sectors.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at HBTMC is really a fun part. Students from different batches come together, share their ideas and convert it into real. We have different festivals in campus like Shiv Jayanti in February, Avighna(Ganesh Chaturthi) in September, Garba nights in October, Arunoday and so on. There are 2-3 libraries in the campus out of which one library is provided with AC. Our classrooms are also spacious equipped with AC, projector, stage, podium with newly provided benches. Various sports activities take place throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities

4

We haven't got the hostels even at the end of 1st year. We are living in PG's near the college. It's really very expensive for the majority of the students to afford it but having no other option. It costs nearly 10,000 for the accommodation excluding the mess per month while hostel costs nearly 10,000 for a year. The campus is having a central canteen and ISKON canteen. The food quality is descent.

Curriculum is quite hectic but interesting as well. Even if it's boring, it's important to study for the benefit of common people. Moreover, there are a total of nineteen subjects that you have to study in your complete MBBS.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is definately a tough course. along with being tough, it also puts some responsibilities on your shoulders as you will be treating real people with real problems in the real world as you complete this course. while studying, students should focus more on 'why' and 'how' type questions than 'what' type of questions. the major exams are conducted in 9 semesters . each semester is of 6 months + 1 year of compulsary internship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The current curriculum is comprehensive based curriculum. Here practical knowledge is more important than bookish knowledge. So now spending more time in wards is of greater importance. Exams are held accordingly - 2 internals, 1 prilims and 1 University held by MUHS. Each exam is followed by practical examination. This curriculum will help to build good doctors rather than bookish doctors.
