Near to my hometown.Only good college i was getting as per my JEE MAINS score.Computer sc. was the only stream so i thought college would focus more on me.College Campus is not yet made, though established in 2014.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because i did a bit of programming in school and i was interested in this domain. Faculty student ratio is somewhere around 1:30. All faculty members are atleast masters. Some are phds and have been teaching in premier institutes like BITS Pilani.Term exams are conducted every 6 months and the exams are of medium level.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd year onwards. Jio, Accenture and many more have offers in the college. Highest Package was around 33lpa nad average is around 5 lpa . around 70% students get placed. My plans are getting a degree is join a company or keep looking for jobs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tuition fess - 90000hostel fees - 18000Some State governments give scholarships. Financial asistance is also provided to many students through bank loans. Training and Placement cell of IIIT Kalyani brings some companies for on campus placements but majority of openings have to be searched by the students themselves.

Campus Life

Life at campus is chilled, not very hectic, people are very helpful about anything. As the college is new, annual fests and tech fests have not happened as of now. Libraby has almost every academic book, it also has magazines and daily newspapers. Sports are played in a different location, not in the college campus.

No, i did not face any Group Discussion, Inrerview or written test for the admission.I dont know about other colleges but IIIT Kalyani does not conduct any GD or interview of anything else of that sort.

One of the things i liked the most was the quality of lecture given by the professors
The campus is very spacious the college has every facility
A fully equipted studio and lab for Journalism students

Dislikes

Things i disliked was the most has to be the locality the college is really nice but the locality is a bit shady

I always wanted to take up Journalism as a career and the thing which caught my attention in this college is that they have a fully equipted studio room and other colleges may have one but the students even publish there own news report here it prepars us very well for the real world

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

The everyday journey

Likes

I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally
The other thing i liked is the library where everyone use to study silently with poking others

Dislikes

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I
In our department ac doesn’t work properly

Classroom, labs and libraries have proper infrastructure
Certificates are provided for participating in conferences or extracurricular activities

Placement is provided in final year . Average package offered is 3 to 4 lpa . Paid internship is provided in 3rd year and the placement percentage is more or less ok. After complication i will either pursue Msc or look for a job.

Likes

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

The faculties are very good and very active. They are always ready to help
Campus is very beautiful and nice. Campus may be a little bit smaller but it is beautiful.
Environment is very good. And have a natural's beauty

Location is a thing which may difficult to find out.
Number of faculties are small quantity due to the college is newly established
Because of the college is new so therefore not huge like any NIT or IIT

After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. There many service based companies visited like TCS ,Cognizant, wipro, Infosys. Almost 60-70% student placed in on campus. Highest package offered by TCS 9-10lpa and Cognizant 6-7lpa wipro 6-7lpa infosys 10lpa etc. 60-70% student getting placement I will go for placement

Placement Experience:

The University Provides Placements options for the students from the 3rd Semester onwards. For the Department of Geography Companies like - GeoDesign and Research PVT. Limited, Wipro, Acadecraft Pvt limited, Cactus etc. are there as recruiters with an average package of 3 LPA. University takes a target to 100 % placement among then almost 60% are placed and rest of the students mainly go to the research field.

Since the syllabus is quite up to date, students learn a lot and are way ahead of their age group students. Most of the students qualify for placements with attractive packages. The university also encourages internships that carry credits in their academic report.

Don't join if you don't care about the iiit tag cause we have poor college life

I got Indian institute of information technology bhagalpur ece branch it's a good college as it has it's own permanent campus while we don't have that so that's why it is preferable in that way but our location is better with other facilities. Journey to start and Journey till the end

During Josaa counseling i applied to many top notch colleges and in the first round result was declared i got MMMUT gorakhpur ECE IOT and i was pretty excited to study IOT but as time passed by i noticed that this yeae the cutoff for ECE IOT in MMMUT went to low as to 2.5lac me being a 80K ranker with students of 2.5lac is not good as later i came to know that the class is what will be deciding which company will come to your college and how much will they offer for campus placement and moreover i found that its course cirriculum is also pretty much out dated and for something like ECE IOT that is such a new field i dodnt find it soothing. i didnt get rejected form the collegs i was expectingt to one of them was IET lucknow i should have took it if the AKTU consulling was not that late as it happened Admission process in our college is simple once you got selected through josaa or csab make you PAF 2 payment and confirm your seat then make the rest of 1st sem payement of instiution and...Read More

Iiit kalyani takes admission in b.tech as ug courses.the branches in the college are cse and ece..the tech branches..it takes admission through jee mains examination. For the getting into IIIT Kalyani, one need to clear the JEE Nains examination and need to have around 50 thousands rank. One major flaw is that there is no female reservations seats.
