Remarks

The course eligibility is very simple. The college itself does not take any entrance test they take students based on the merit lists. The merit list is calculated based on your class 12 marks and also secondary exam marks. If you get good percentage marks in the higher secondary then the chance of getting admission here will be much higher. You must have chemistry subject in class 12. And you need a minimum of 75-80% marks to be on the merit list. Seats are limited and competition is very high. You can find the application form on our college website and the admission fee was around 2000. Reservation seats are available for SC/ST/OBC candidates

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have a deep interest in chemistry. Especially I love organic chemistry. So I have chosen this course. We have 3 professors and one lab assistant in our department. And the student we had in our department had around 24. So the student-faculty ratio was 8 students per one faculty. Our faculties are very good at teaching they are all qualified and have a lot of experience. They encourage good connection, active learning by taking feedback. They have taken practical classes and given assignments. We had 3 exams in total 3 years. At the end of every year, we had to give one main exam. If you did not study consistently exams are very difficult to pass

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of studying here is very low and you have to pay the fee every year which is around Rs 2000 per year. So the total cost of studying here is well less than 10,000. The fee does not increase a lot. However, you can get 24,000-30,000 per year scholarships from the government if you get 60% marks in graduation. You can apply for Kanyashree if you are a girl student. Moreover many private scholarships are available. This is not an engineering college. So we can't expect job campusing after the course.

Campus Life

4

Our college organizes cultural fest all around the year. Students from every department join in many programs. They recite, sing, dance or do acting. Group quiz and debate competitions were also organized. Moreover, many special days like Rabindra Jayanti, Independence day, Netaji Jayanti, Republic Day, Teacher's Day etc are organized every year. A library is a special place for all book lovers. And we have a very good library room in our college. Thousands of books from different authors are availble here. Our classroom is also good. We have very good campus. We have very well decorated gardens with beautiful flowers infront of our college. We have a student union group but they are very helpful.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
