Remarks

You just need to have a good score in wbjee in order to be eligible to apply for any course in St Thomas. Also additionally, you need to get at least 50% in all of physics, chemistry, and maths in order to apply for an engineering seat. If you fulfill all these criteria you will easily get a seat in this college Application form is available from counseling center only where you will be getting hold of application dates also for applying to different colleges. Application fees vary from college to college. Here is a draft of 15k needed to be submitted. Then the additional amount of 50k needed to be submitted to the college itself. I have not availed of any reservation benefits since I am from the general category. Yes maybe in the near future counseling process can be made more smooth. Other forms of online payment like upi, imps may also be introduced.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course ie electronics and communication since that was in trend those days. Also if you want to seat for ies exam you need to appear from a core stream. Apart from this before joining this college I went to a career fair where I was advised by a teacher over there to apply for ece. And another thing from my childhood I always wanted to study electronics. All these added up and I finally selected ece as my engineering stream. Faculty: student ratio is roughly 6:65.Enough teachers were there to handle 65 odd students. The faculty was quite competent enough to teach us. Some teachers were from iit, nit. Some were from PSU's like barc, sail in order to teach in stcet. These people had a passion for teaching. The semester exams happened twice a year with internals happening before every semester. Semester exams were of moderate to difficult level. Internal exams were a cakewalk.

Internships Opportunities

5

I got internship opportunities in Tata teleservices where I was not paid. However, the knowledge which I gathered was really good. Many people from my batch took internships in Tata Steel which was a paid internship. Some did their internship in Indian railways too. Now let's tell what I did in Tata teleservices We learned a lot about bts, spectrum allocation, bandwidth, about 2g,3g spectrum. Also regarding signaling types of equipment and other stuff, I really had a good knowledge after undergoing this internship. Also one day we had a field tour where we got a sort of hands-on training. Now if we come to difficulties after completing the internship we were asked to submit a PowerPoint presentation that showcased what we learned during this internship and what hurdles we faced. After this, we were asked to submit a hardbound copy also.

Placement Experience

5

Students from the 4th-year 7th semester onwards become eligible for all sorts of campus recruitments. Cognizant technology solutions are the principal recruiter. Other companies which used to come during this time include Infosys, Odesha technologies, itc infotech, and others. All these companies generally take many students from our campus. During our time around 88% of students got selected from our batch. Out of which many students got double job offers from cognizant and Infosys. Some got job offers in sonodyne, Vodafone, and other companies. The highest package was offered by cognizant which was about 6 lakhs per annum. An average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum was offered by Infosys followed by itc infotech which offered roughly 4 lakhs per annum. After getting the degree I will pursue Ms maybe or maybe I can opt for MBA too. Also, I can sit for ies exam. Let's see what happens.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees were hiked every year by roughly 1k.for example, semester fees for a year were 40k. Next year it will be 41k and the following year it will be 42k and so on. So as you can fee infrastructure is quite liberal. The cost to study is roughly 40k per semester. This includes tuition fees, library fees, lab fees, developmental fees, etc. I was entitled to merit cum means scholarship. Since I was a good pointer during those days. Also, there was a provision for minority-based scholarships too where you will be getting 100% off on tuition fees. The rest fees you will need to pay as per other regular students. Now if you speak about campus recruitment I was placed in cognizant technology solutions. It is easy to a job on campus if you are smart and well-rehearsed in English. Also you need to be well versed in your stream. The internship which we did during our college life was simple without any stipend but we learned a lot.

Campus Life

4.5

Every year during the months of February or March Annual tech fest named srey was held. Now during this tech fest, people from other colleges come to participate. There are events like robotics, maths quiz, coding, impromptu, and others. There are cash prizes and other gift vouchers too. Apart from this, a cultural fest is also held each year. Here, for instance, students from our colleges only participate where they perform singing and dancing. Sports like cricket, football, badminton take place every year. Annual sports day is also held every year. Inter-college tournaments are also being organized in our college. Now if we speak of inter-school tournaments these are also good. Students from various colleges do come to our college during this time. Events take place on a regular basis in our college during particular times, especially in winter.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
