Entrance Preview

Mu-oet. I have scored 120/240. I was personally very interested in Mechanical Engineering so I choose it.

Internships Opportunities

College provides a lot of internships. It varies from 10 k to 20 k. Companies like Philips , Honeywell, think and learn and a lot visit the campus every year.

Placement Experience

4.5

Well for CS students almost a company visits every day on an average. For other branches, mechanical attracts the most number of core companies. Almost 80% of the people get placed approximately. Packages range form 4lpa to 16lpa. Companies such as maruti ,fiat, Yamaha, mahindra ,Honda, hero, l&t, abb ,TCS Infosys, wipro,Philips , Honeywell, mindtree, think and learn, Bosch and almost upto 200 companies visit the campus.

College Events

5

Well a lot of events happen everyday in the students meeting place. In addition annual feats techtatva for technical and revels for cultural take place in a great way. There are many student chapters such as IE MECH, IE CIVIL, ASME, SAE INDIA, IEEE, IE E&C a few of them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is on a higher side and most of the people join here are from upper middle class families. The fees of academics is around 4lpa and the hostels for triple sharing common bathroom is 60k. The single bed room with common room is around 160k. There are even AC hostels and attached bathroom hostels. Even hostels with single sharing is available.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a lot of scholarship facilities available. In fact for people below a certain income level there is govt scholarship. There are even a lot of scholarships on a regular basis depending on your academic score. A lot of banks provide loan facility. Loan upto 4lpa can be availed without any surity.

Campus Life

5

Well the gender ratio will be 60:40. The girls in Mechanical Engineering are very less and the girls are abundant in bio medical engineering. There are people coming from all parts of the India right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Bengal and even from north west states. There happens a lot of events happening daily let it be technical or debates or competitions or social responsibilities.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni portal is very useful. The interaction happens a lot. They help us in placements and as career guides. They even come back to give lectures.

Exam Structure

The labs and exams are conducted according to the time table . It was very chilled out and the time table being very structured helps the students a lot. The labs are conducted punctually and the experiments and the equipment are upto the mark .They have 5 surprise tests for 10 marks. 2 internal assessment for 40 marks and and final exams for 50 marks. The time table is given at the starting of the academic year and so we have an idea of the exam dates. So then preparation becomes easy.

Admission

I have given the university entrance test ( MU-OET). The other way to get an admission is through NRI quota which is around 5%. During counselling we have to take a DD for the total amount and need to choose a seat in the available branches. The selection for branches is purely based on it entrance test MU-OET rank.

Faculty

4

All the faculty are at least post graduates. A new decision of choosing only PhD faculty is being taken. Most of them are very good. Good student teacher interaction takes place. The faculty have a good back from college for their research and hence even they encourage students for their research.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
