Remarks

So I applied for all CU afflicted government colleges because government of West Bengal has waived off the application fees and it was free to apply in any government college. I got selected from Bhawanipur college on just 2nd checklist of students who are allowed to take admission but it I didn't get into that college because compared to all CU Aflieted colleges it was take too Much fees for each semester. Other colleges such as Umesh chandra, ashutosh college were taking too Much time to release their student checklist but Our college just took like 2 to 3 days to release 2nd list and my name. Was there without thinking too much I took. Admission in my college and my decision was not bad instead our college is strict and good There was no any criteria as minimum of certain scoring marks can apply and all. Everything I did to get admission was online I filled the application form online using my phone and admission payment using debit card after few weeks college send us gmail about classes

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is average, faculty members are very humble. I choose this course because this college is quite good rewarding b. Com (hons). Qualifications for teachers are Ph.D. and B. The teaching method is average old school type Exams are conducted only once in semester and it's very hard calcutta university is known for it's toughness in exams

Internships Opportunities

0.5

No internship yet I'm in college for 2 years I didn't get a chance to work in an internship. Hope next year there will be some internships for us because due to corona no companies visited us for internships and classes were also online.

Placement Experience

3

After 5tg semester students are eligible for campus placement. The companies visited last year were TCS and others. The highest package was of 6lac and average if 1.5 lac. Very low number of students gets selected by placement in college like 10% I would go for M. Com after graduating

Fees and Financial Aid

So, I paid 12600 for my 1st year I. E. 2 semester for b. Com (Hons) which is quite an inexpensive side other Calcutta university affiliate college fees are around 6000 for a year. The scholarship is quite hard to get in this college you have to have an outer source we can also use the student's card provided by the government. No financial assistance. Campus jobs are underpaid

Campus Life

3.5

The campus is big good for us but we like to hang out. The annual fest occurs regularly like holi, Saraswati puja, and all. Books are easily available in the library because students do not usually take the books from the library Sports we have cricket volleyball and chess in indoor but no one seems to be interested Union is run by us students which play a huge impact on our college social value

Other Applied Colleges

Goenka college | B.com (honours)

Because they selected students with score higher than 95%

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen my specific course (Bcom) because it is more of a comfortable course for me and it's easy for me to understand the course more easily and effectively. Although the curriculum is strong in commerce subject AI, Data analysis, Fintech. These types of emerging technology could also be enhanced. The frequency and timing of the exams are very friendly to students because they get a longer period of time to complete their syllabus and the difficulty level is pretty good as it comes under Calcutta University.

Placement Experience:

The college placements are low just like other colleges the might have chance if he /she scored good marks in every semester exams and have good skill in their streams .As I told before that I might do MBA after my B.com. The 30% to 40% students are placed by the college . The packages offered to students are between 45000 to 60000 per month.

The course curriculum was good some of the topics are related to real world but it was quite difficult to understand we have to do self study and analyse the topics for understanding it clearly. They should improve some parts of taxation and overall was good experience.

On passing 5th semester, the students of Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration are eligible for campus placement offers. The campus reach out college during our sixth semester to interview us. After passing sixth semester we can proceed with the jobs in case we qualify. All the Big 4s viz EY, Deloitte, PwC and KPMG including with MNCs reach our college for campus placement opportunities. They definitely select students each year. The highest package offered till date is 10 lakhs with a associate profile. The average package is 3 laks. The percentage of students getting placement offer is between 5% to 10 %. My plan after the BCOM course is becoming a successful Chartered Accountant and Cost and Management Accountant.
