Entrance Preview

NIMCET-2009 and Got 182 Rank. I looked for South Indian NIT Colleges like NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy but I didn't get seat in the mentioned colleges then I opted NIT Calicut, before opted also i have a view on the NIT Calicut College.

Course Curriculum Overview

Regularly course curriculum will be changed based on the current market and trend. Like every 4-5 years once they will do market analysis and based on that will change the curriculum. It would be very helpful in the doing the Job. I can assess the course curriculum is very helpful to the current job point of view.

Internships Opportunities

Internship in Oracle - 12K, Accenture - 6K, McAfee - 10K, GoldManSache - 15K, Yahoo - 12K, MicroSoft - 18K, CA - 15K, Google - 25K, Facebook - 20K.

College Events

Lots of Events are there in my College. Major Events are TATAVA - Its all india Technical Festival. Almost Many Technical College stundents participated in this event from all over the India, Majorly from Kerala and South Indian Colleges. Major Cultural Event is RAGAM -Its all india Cultural Festival.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At my Time its 12000+ for first Semester and 8000+ for second semester college fees only. Its cheaper than all the other NIT Colleges in India. Hostel fees are differentiate between 1200-2000/month depends on the which Mess you choose for your Meals. These prices are from 2006-2009. It will be increased many times than the mentioned fees above.

Fees and Financial Aid

Silver Gubilee Scholarships and Alumni Scholar ships are available and once i got ALUMNI Scholar ship also.

Admission

Its Through NIMCET Entrance its All India NITs MCA Common Entrance Test. Its NIMCET Exam and then Counselling only. Counselling will be any of the NIT College in India. Its Centralized Counselling.

Faculty

Most of my college facilities are industry oriented teaching will be delivering to the students and we can match the same to the real time job point of view. Major of Faculty are teaching is very practical. The teach is very useful the valuable to the current work life.

Placement Experience:

For Integrated MCA, students become eligible for placements since the 9th semester. For Btech, its 7th semester. Some of the companies that visited our college are SOTI, UST, Leopard Technologies, Safran Digit. There are many other companies that we can apply to but those drives are not conducted at our college like experion technologies and G10X technologies. Our college is the only college in Kerala from where students are hired by Safran Digit. I have gotten placement in G10X technoologies private limited.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed MCA at Nirmala College due to several reasons: • It is a course which is open to anyone who has passed any bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% and above. The only prerequisite is that one need to attend the annual LBS MCA entrance examination to secure admission to this course. • The syllabus of MCA in this college is affiliated with that of MG University, Kottayam. It is a vast syllabus covering various applications of computer science including programming in various languages such as C, Java, PHP, Python, data structures, algorithms, statistics, data mining, machine learning, software engineering, networking, etc. • The course is theoretically good but practically it doesn't really equip all students with enough knowledge and understanding to be placed in a good IT company. Some portions could be excluded from various theory subjects such as Networking with TCp/Ip and Algorithms Analysis.

Exploring the Pathways of Excellence

Placement Experience:

students typically become eligible for campus placements strarting from the 7th semester of their engineering program. preparation for placements starts in the 6th semester. Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, IBM, Amazon etc. the numbers of offers made varies each year, but on average, each major recruiting company makes 5 to 20 offfers during the placement season. Highest package can go upto 15-20 LPA offered by companies like Amazon, oracleetc. and average package range between INR 4-6 LPA like profiles offered are Software Developer, Data Analyst, Project Manager etc. Approximately 70-80% of eligible students secure placements through campus recruitment drives. My pan is to secure a job and after getting stable then trying to do my wn business in this field.

I have completed BCA so I followed its corresponding post graduation . There are 7 faculties at Calicut University campus for MMCAand a Lab assistant. The faculties must complete post graduation or any higher education (PhD or net qualified). In MCA exams are conducted by sem vise so there should be a semester exam after each. It is not that much easy to pass these exams so need to focus on each subjects thoroughly

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
