Arpita Kundu's Review On Seth Anandram Jaipuria College, Kolkata

After my higher secondary result, I got admission in Jaipuria college with normal honours selection procedure.

We dod not receive much focus on the grammatical aspect, as in literature, you are expected to know the basics. I got admission in english with the intent to learning the language more. So, I studied pretty hard. My bengali medium background was prompted me to put more efforts. English as a language appealed to me in M.A., but its foundation was laid in the graduation level.

I dint have any know about whether the college provides any internship to any student or fresher. So I am not the right person to talk about it.

Well, it was not a college which offered placements. I am not sure about whether it offers placements now. But, it was quite renowned for its finance department. I did not pursue finance but heard a lot of success stories of my college from my family and friends.

Well, I have never been culturally active in my college. As far as my knowledge goes, we celebrated freshers. But, I was not an integral part of it. Secondly, we had many events in class in which almost all the students participated. I do not remember celebrating any other events. Saraswati puja was also celebrated, I think.

I have not taken any loan from my college. The fees were not very high. Secondly, I do not possess any knowledge about whether there is any loan facility provided to students by the college administration.

Regarding gender ratio- I used to study in the morning section. So, there were all girls. Regarding dorm- there was no dorm. Regrading work shop- I do not remember that I had ever attended any. Tolerance towards gender- high. There were no barriers pertaining to race, religion, ethnicity or gender. The college was an educational institute where we gained knowledge, not discrimination.

The exam pattern was divided into multiple segments. We had many class test which determined whether we would be able to take the university level or final test. This structure was not developed for the sake of it. I remember that, in the first year, several students were not allowed to take the final test of the university,as they failed to clear the class tests.

I dnt remember when the notification was released but I certainly did not fill any online form. So, the queue was very lengthy. But administration cooperated. There was availability of water and the dry food was also accessible. I got the admission for bachelors of arts in English Literature.
