Inside India's 1st and world's 3rd Rail and transportation Institute

India's 1st rail transportation Institute with vision to become the leading university (under process to be an Institute of national importance) that grabbed my attraction. Also,our syllabus is designed in such a manner that, very few university (may be IIMs only in Indian case) in India have. Like we have critical thinking, design thinking, Operations research, etc and no other engineering colleges can provide this in India but it is general in abroad universities.We have trimester system which again makes it different than Indian colleges. In addition to that we have a choice based credit system that means students have freedom to choose their curriculum with their interests. All these things shows how this Institute is different from Indian Institutions and how it can compete at world level.

My course is Btech in Rail infrastructure engineering. As we know how the india is progressing in it infrastructure and that show the importance of this course! Talking about the faculties, they are Indian but most of them have studied abroad or have thought at IIM/IITs or at least have a Phd from IITs. New faculties are being recruited day by day. Seeing their qualifications you can predict their way of teaching, but one thing is special. That is, they don't get angry if u ask and fool doubt. They just try to clear your doubts as much as possible.

Yes, I have just completed my Internship at Solapur division of Indian Railways. Internship is compulsory for every year for every studentand have 2 credits for it. For 1st year it is offered by Indian Railways to every student. Intension of this internship is to provide the introduction of industry to its students. Students have to find the problems faced by Indian Railways and provide effective solutions to them.Indian Railways provides Class A officers as mentors, so you get the opportunity to have with them in the internship period and share your thoughts. This internship doesn't provide and stipend or accommodation This is also same for the internship in the vacations of 2nd year. For 3rd year internship it will be in Indian railways or it's PSUs like RITES, NHSRCL, RVNL or private companies like Alstom, L&T, Aditya Birla, MMRDA, DFCCL, Delhi Metro, etc.No special stipend will be give, but some students get accommodation and mess facilities.

In BBA, BSC case, students become eligible for placements after 7th-8th trimester and continue till the end of the course. This year's placement is the 1st placement of NRTI and only BBA, BSC students are eligible for this, because other branches have started late. Btech's 1st batch is going to 2nd year this year only. So, companies visited were mostly related to transportation and supply chain industries. Companies like, DFCCL, Aditya Birla, Mahindra logistics, Reliance,L&T etc have visited for campus placements. There were only 103 students of this batch in which nearly 75 students were opted for campus placements and rest went for higher studies (some have selected in IIMs). In a meeting,our higher authority told us that, until now 59 students have been placed with 8.71lack as a highest package and 4 lack is the median package. Placements of rest students is about to end. Now imagine, this was the 1st placements of this Institute and students of BBA, BSC 8.71 lack as the highest package. Most of the IITs also didn't have this record in their 1st placement even though these are not Btech students. So, there is a big hope for Btech students

Seeing at fees, it is much higher than other government colleges. We have 125,000Rs tution fees.32000for hostels and 45000 for mess facilities.5000 as campus facility fees for wifi, AC etc. Despite all this, there is a financial aid process for the students who have their family income below 1lack or it is 1lack to 3lack rupee. To avail the financial aid you should have more than 8 cgpa and performance should be in tip 20% of the class.

As our college is only 3yrs only, we don't have a very big fest, but we celebrate many festivals, like Diwali, Ganesh utsav etc. Our library is equipped with books of railways and transportation. We have totally modern classrooms, with AC and wifi facilities in addition to digital boards. With history of only 3years and total 400 Institute students, we have more than 10 clubs.like, Dance club,Literature club, quiz and debate club, performing art club, graphic design club,robotics club, Supply chain club, business club etc.some students have started NRTI podcast in which they will post things about the college to reach the outsiders.

Hostel is compulsory for undergraduate students. Everything is provided in the hostel from AC to modern furnitures.Also, for new students accommodation is being given in the NHSRCL training center in which officers taking training for India's 1st bullet train are living.Every room has 2 students.

For Btech admission is directly through JEE Mains results. For BBA, BSC Or MSC there is a NRTI aptitude test.MBA is through the marks of CAT, XMAT etc. I personally don't know about the interviews.
