Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in Mechanics and fluid dynamics and I saw that these courses played an integral role in my branch that's why I choose RIE over other branches, also Civil is the core of engineering. the faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:20. All the faculties are Ph.D. from IIT or the foreign top universities. Most of them teach through PPTs and have a good command over their subjects. Exams are conducted on time and you can easily pass them I you are regular in the class.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are compulsory every year, In the first year they give internships in Railways, in the second year in PSU, and in the third year, you have to go to a private company so that you have an idea of all the industries. The college will provide these internships.
Placement Experience
Right now no B Tech batch is placed so we can't say anything about the placements but they will start placing our 2020 batch this August. Many of our seniors are preparing for GATE, UPSC, and CAT. College is trying to bring as many companies as it can.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are hiked every year by up to 10%. There are basically 2 scholarships 1st one is for students whose annual income is less than 1 lakh they get a full refund of tuition fees. The other one is for students having an annual income of less than 3 lakh they get a 50% refund on tuition fees. These scholarships are provided to the top 20% of students of the batch.
Campus Life
A lot of books are present in the library and you will also have access to NAIR Library which has many books related to railways. Classrooms are having AC and Projector. Sports facilities are present on the campus which everyone can access. There are many clubs in the college for extracurricular activities and you have to go through an interview round to join them.
Hostel Facilities
We have AC, a study table, a chair, a bed, a mattress, and an almirah in the hostel. Mess food is okay. You have to compulsorily take the hostel if you are in an undergraduate degree. Hostels are too good if you compare them with other colleges but in the first year you have to stay at a different hostel and they will provide you bus for transportation.
Admission
Admission is through JEE Mains only. Everyone has to register for the college application form then they release the merit list and cutoff for the subsequent rounds. The application form can be found at gsv.ac.in and the fee is 500 rupees. 50% of Seats are reserved as per government policies.
