Briefs about the life at NIT Kurukshetra

Campus and location of Institute is very good. Placements for Masters program is not so good specially for Mechanical and Civil branches. I got admission through centralise admission process (COAP) in second round.

There is sufficient strength of reputed and qualified Professors which are student friendly. Good Teaching methods with use of technologies. Curriculum is timely managed and can passed with regular study easily.

No, I didn't get any internship offer.

After first year companies starts to provide internship at the third semester of Masters program for one year to students. Almost every student from Computer and Electronics department gets an internship. But only few students of other departments such as Electrical, Mechanical and Civil department gets an internship. Most of the internships gets converted into pre-placement offers. Those who don't get placed have to try their luck in outside job market to get an opportunity.

Hostel with good infrastructure is available. Those who get admissions with GATE score gets monthly stipend of 12400 rupees by ministry of Education. You have to provide teaching assistant to your supervisor 8 hours a week for the stipend. Meal is not included in college fees. You have to pay it separately approximately 4k a month.

Life at the campus is very happening as there are lot of sport facilities, Gymnasium with swimming pool is available. There are various cultural club are formed by students for various activities. Annual fest named 'Texcellence' is generally conducted every year in month of November. Other than this there are various other fests conducted throughout the year.Library is also good with large amount of books and various international journals and magazines. Varieties of newspapers and facility of television for news is also available in library.Classrooms are Air conditioned with projector and speakers facilities.As the institute is itself in state where the culture of sports has been grown as the centre of everything. So no need to mention that the sports facilities are goods with large cricket and football ground with other sport facilities such as tenis court, volleyball court, basketball and badminton courts. Also there are various indoor games also available in each of the hostels such as Carrom, chess and Table tennis with courts for badminton.There are different club such as yoga club, Music club, photography club, Dance club, etc.

If a student is not from nearby areas, hostel is compulsory for every student. Hostel room costs nearly 5000 a semester. Room consists of internet facility with LAN provided to every room. Bed with Table and chair is provided for study purpose.Meal at hostel is very good with good parathas in breakfast which costs you 4000 a month.

No. I did not face any interview, Group discussion or Test as the admission rounds were conducted by Centralised admission process for all NITs commonly.
