AKGEC Review

So I got 5464 ranks in the General category and I filled for JSS Noida, AKGEC Ghaziabad and IET Lucknow. In the second round, I was alloted CSE at AKGEC Ghaziabad. Till the last round, the college allotted to me was AKGEC Ghaziabad. ON 26th July I went for counselling with all the details and documents such as ID photos allotment letter. It was a whole day long process.

I chose CSE which is because of the placements and further opportunities. The faculties are average. You need to study and learn most of the things on your own and with the help of the seniors. The ratio is approx 60;1. There are three exams conducted which are ST1 =25 MARKS ST2 =50 marks and PUT=100 marks then finally the University exam. It is easy to pass the exams. Just you need the notes to study.

Generally, the companies that come to every other college come here. The college also offers internships but it is of no use. If you try for off campus internship opportunities then you can expect a stipend of around 25-40k.

Most of the companies that visit college are for CS/IT. No companies come for core departments so they prepare for GATE, CAT OR SSC etc.THE companies that visit every year are TCS, WIPRO, ACCENTURE, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI, DLT labs. The placements for CS/IT is more as compared to all other branches. The average package is around 4-5 lpa.Highest placements are generally from off campus.

Academic fees is increasing every year. At my time it was 1,15,000 per year. You can apply for the up scholarship and also if you are a rank opener of any of the respective branch of your year then you would be getting a fee waiver. Many companies visit colleges but most of them offer 4-6 lpa only.

There is no cultural fest conducted in the college. Small events are conducted by the individual societies of the college. Sports fest happens every year starting from September to October. We have one ground for all the sports. There is a library with books related to all topics mostly. Multiple technical and cultural societies are present in the college. The classroom is average looking with only fans in it.

The first year boys/girls hostel is the biggest and the best as compared to all other hostels. First year has double seated rooms and after this, we have triple seated rooms for every year. The mess food for first and third year hostels is good. Nearby you can easily rent a PG but not so good locality.
