Aakash Kapoor's Review On Galgotias College Of Engineering And Technology - [GCET], Greater Noida

Got 1.5 lakh rank in AIEEE and opted for this college due to awesome placements. And also as it was near to my home.

The course was a mix of general and 12th studies in first year. Later on the specialisations came and we got to know more about Engineering. First year course for all branches was same. And then at last year the project was there. All teachers mentored us well.

The college didn't provide us with any internships but did recommend us to many reputed companies like ongc, kpmg deloitte etc.

The placements were awesome. And each student had job opportunity from atleast 3 companies. The avg package ranged from 2.5- 3.5 lakhs per annum. Our placement cell called atleast 50+ companies for both B.tech and MBA students and there were plenty of job opportunities.

I was the president of rotaract club of my college. I and my team organised various events and also each year a blood camp and fest took place. The fest was always awesome and was star studded as many celebs came to perform each year. Also there used to b many competitions in every genre.

The college was initially not that expensive as compared to other colleges and charged 1 lakhs per annum. After that they raised the fees which irked many students. There were even protests when the fees reached 1.35 lakhs. But for older students the fees remained same.

Many students got the offer of scholarship from govt and college each year and some poor students also got the fee waiver for entire 4 years.

The exam structure was that there were 2 sessional examination runs that lasted for 3 days each and were in between 2 months. There were 6 subjects and 3 days so that makes 2 subjects per day and after that there were PUT's to prepare us for the semester exams. After that we gave our semester exams.

I got it through AIEEE counselling. Admission procedure went in the premises as well and it went on smoothly and precisely. We went in the college and there we were taken in the hall. The whole admission process took the whole day as affidavits and all were needed for legal purposes.

The faculty of the college was top notch. Many teachers had done masters from IIT'S AND NIT'S and HOD had done 2 PHD's as well. And they were helpful too. In the final year we got mentors to help us out and we got the best help and made wonderful projects. The teachers were always there to guide us.
