Common Entrance Test (CET). Don't remember my rank though as that is too much of an ask. I opted for SIT as based on my rank this was the best college I could have got into. In 2001 SIT was ranked 5th in private collages Karnataka.
Course Curriculum Overview
First year was pretty much standard irrespective of your elected specialisation or branch. We had electives second year onwards. The choices back then were neither vast nor research oriented. It would have surely changed now as SIT has become autonomous university.
Internships Opportunities
Back in 2005 they did not provide internships. Not aware of the current scenario. We used have a "Competency Lab" which had tie ups with corporates.
Placement Experience
Placements was phenomenal but job opportunities weren't great cause the moment you get placed in a company you were not allowed to appear for any other company unless you surrender your offer letter. This was a little risky as in surrendering even before getting a assurance that you will get placed in the next company.
College Events
We had technical fest for each of the branches I.e. Electronics and communications, computer science, mechanical engineering etc. Annually we used to have a very inter college cultural fest by the name of "Halcyon", which attracted participation from various colleges under VTU like RV college etc.
Faculty
Faculty was excellent with adequate experience and expertise. Head of the department for all the departments or branches were extremely knowledgeable professors. On accessibility I would rate them 8 on a scale of 10. Few of them were strict but then never rude.
