Remarks

I had heard a lot about NIFT- that it's the best college in industry and that New Delhi was the best campus- however the totally depends on different departments. The professors are good as well as the campus. I just have one advice don't just learn what your department teaches but also explore what other people are learning by socializing with other departments and seniors

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

My Department was Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory Design it was not only related to products and accessories but the curriculum also cover different skills and subjects like graphic design, marketing, fashion management, photography. There are the skills that will be very helpful in industry as well as broadens up the scope of the field and what other roles you can take up.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are centralised so that every student gets the opportunity to apply in all the companies that are there during the placements. The average package is 5-6, but that totally dependents on you skill set and portfolio. There are people that get as low as 3-4 and people that have scored packages for 12-17 lacs annually.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I would say the fees is quite high if we include the hostel fees as well as the stationary and all other things that we have to spend on, but if you compare to private colleges for the same field it's relatively fine. Most students find their studies through loans but there is scholarship available for students that come from economically weaker background.

Campus Life

5

The campus is good and situated in a good area- however it is small as compared to other campuses. Despite being relatively small than other campuses every essential thing is available inside. Library is the best place- most books required are available if not in hardcopy then online.

Admission

Yes there is a written entrance exam. The written test is comprised of two parts GAT- General aptitude test and CAT-Creative Aptitude test. After you get pass the exam the next stage is Situation test that is held at NIFT campuses.Three statement/questions are given out of which two are written and for one you have to make a model of whatever the situation requires.

Since I am from Arts deparemt, there were not much options and I did not sit in the placements I cannot say much about it here. Although there were seminars related to differents fellowship options such as Gandhi fellowship, Texah for India. Some people from my department got in them and they are doing fine as of now so yes there are option once your are in the campus you'll get to know about them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My Economics syllabus and the professor is amazing. They explain everything in detail and they are really very open to criticism as well The exam level is actually medium. Since, our professors prepare us in attempting them easily. Practice sessions are worth devoting time in.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester students become eligible for campus placement. Placements are pretty average and mainly business development executive roles are offered (for bcom )with decent packages. Auditing roles are also offered. Good companies do come but for limited batch of students. I am not aware of the specific numbers

Course Curriculum Overview:

I personally like finance and accounting field and in bcom hons we widely study about these majors . This led me to opt for this course. All the subjects and their curriculum are great . We can really use them in our real life . Like we study income tax and e filing , financial accounting, tally prime, companies act, etc which are all required as a foundation for a business and accounting. But I feel some subjects should be kept practical only instead of writing anything about it in exams . As a du student we all must have encountered writing unnecessary pages for answers just to make our answer look more suitable. I feel teachers should on quality over quantity of answer as it can improve our learnings.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as highly relevant and fairly comprehensive especially for the students inclined towards applied science and technology. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between the theoretical understanding and the practical application, supported by well equipped laboratories and project based assessments. The inclusion of skill enhancement course and the discipline elective papers provides felxibility and helps students explore interdisciplinary areas. but there is still a room for improvement in making the styllabus more industry oriented, such as integrating internships and live projects and workshops with industry partners to enhance pratical exposure. exams are also prepared in a way that simply memorizing the concept won't help rather deep understanding of the subjects would be needed that is they are much more aplication of comcept oriented. with consistent preparation you can perform well.

• Commerce subjects, my cuet score aligning with this college, location • only few subjects like accounting, human resource, financial management ( core subjects of my course are relevant and knowledgeable)other courses like ability enhancement, value added, skill does not add any value in my course. • Removing unnecessary mandatory subjects like hindi/english, evs which have no scope in future. • timings is 3 hours per core subject and other relevant courses are of around 2 hour or 1.5 hr depending on the subject.
