MH CET, I scored average that is why for counselling only one branch was left. But this was the college I want so I went for metallurgy course.

Course structure was good. Only 4 to 5 colleges in Maharashtra offer that course, so cannot compare. But it was lacking in research. Only theoretical approach was seen. Labs were not hi tech. For some experiment for our final project we have to went to Pune university. Electives were compulsory for 2 semesters. Which was decided randomly, where you can learn some from different branches like IT or mechanical.

No such thing for metallurgy, only one internship was needed for 1 month. College was not supportive and there was no stipend.

Full placement was there in our batch. Tata steel, JSW, and many government companies were there with good packages. Two or three foreign industries were also there. For this course highest package was offered by one Japanese company which was 24lpa.

Mindspark is technical event which is very famous, goes for 3 days. Zest is the sports event where almost every sport is covered which goes for about a week. Since COEP has riverbank, regatta is the event where you can ride a canoe or kayak. Regatta is for 1 evening but you need to get 2 months practice before that.

Fee is feasible, and much cheaper compares to other colleges. For my first year it was 30000, For second year 35000, For third year 45000, And final year 50000.

Scholarships were there but not for open cast. So I do not have much idea. Also those whose results were extra ordinary in 12th used to get a scholarship.

Gender ratio is equal. Many clubs and groups are there where you can participate. You can see any type of student, all races, all religions, all from different backgrounds. Basically people are from all over Maharashtra can be seen, since it is a top college.

Exams were very frequent. Now there are two tests and one final exam for each subject. Main problem was each faculty used to decide their own exam date for tests which leaves you with continuous tests. Lab sessions were chilled. Final exam are not like university where rest in between papers is for 5 days, here you will only get 1 day, which is good, saves time.

I received notification as soon as received my result. Admission process was standard. But staff is not friendly. Since it was formerly government college. I got admission in second round, which was the last round. But till I got admitted, lectures were already started, so I missed my 4 to 5 lectures.

Some of the faculties were well known and now it is compulsory for all professors to complete PhD, so there's a good news. But most of the time one or two chapters were skipped due to mismanagement from faculty. Also faculties were very strict.
