Entrance Preview

I cleared entrance examination successfully & got 2nd position on list of selected candidates. The exam was conducted by School of Building & Science of Technology for M.Tech in Construction & Project Management (CPM). I was also about to appear for entrance test for M.Tech (Structure Design) in same institute, but however i cleared the entrance exam for M.Tech (CPM) & I was determined to join the course so i refuse to appear in entrance for other courses

Internships Opportunities

No, internship was not provided to us in M.Tech (Construction & Project Management). but during our batch we proposed to have internship in companies near Ahmadabad with least or no stipend. But the permission was not obtained from management as their prime concern was that students should focus whole day-time in versatile study.

Placement Experience

5

Placement & Job opportunities were excellent at CEPT in M.Tech (Construction & Project management). Our external coordinator Prof. S.Sapre sir was having very strong relations with huge numbers of industries. Along with support of Dean & HOD, he invited plenty of companies for placement along with facilities to conduct exams, personal interviews. Companies like ESSAR, JLL, OBEROI, KPMG, SHAPOORJI, KINGHTFRANK was regular at every year for campus recruitment. We all students were absorbed by the companies who came for interviews & it was 100% placement of M.Tech (Construction & Project Management) student with very lucrative CTC packages around 6-8 lacs per annum.

College Events

4.5

We participate in inter-collage competition with our projects. We celebrates Engineers day. Also at CEPT, Roots is the most popular cultural festival organised by whole university.students for around 100 different collages come to visit & participate in Roots. We students of M.Tech(CPM) held responsibility to organise 'Lohri' celebration in collage every year.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio was approx. 8 girls to 10 boys.Dorm parties were quite fun. We were also having fresher parties for freshers & farewell parties for senior guys. At CEPT we organised hadicraft & wire models, metal casting workshop for students for open to all. sports we encouraged cricket & football mainly. student diversity was very high.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel rooms are quite comfortable along with adequate sanitary utilities like toilet & bathrooms. The air & light ventilation was very nice & rooms are having sufficient space for two room partners. Also the light fittings & fans are working efficiently to provide comfort for night study. The overall maintenance & administration was good. Average rentals was around 1500 rs per year for students.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni meets are held in Navratri festival as the CEPT is also very famous for there Garba dance. The students had formed CEPT Alumni groups & forums for each department wise. Also faculty members guide students to maintain the same. I met our senior Mr. Naveen Garg (Batch 2004 passed out) during Navratri Alumni Meet.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was mainly in written in each semester with internal & finals.but the project submission & seminar was very frequent. We were given a schedule of presentations to be prepared by our faculty members & we have to prepare a detailed structured presentation by our own having reference from books, journals, practical data & other sources.

Admission

The Entrance form was available at Main office in department of School of Building during November. Science & Technology. The entrance exam was having format similar to GRE, having Multiple objective questions with negative marking of subjects like Maths,GK & English. Maths questions was having logical reasoning, programming and English was mainly concern with vocabulary & grammar.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty members at CEPT was prominent & having very strong background of research as well as their on-field work experience. Many of our faculties were part of professional bodies of engineers in India. Also we were fortunate to have guidance of visiting faculties who were associated with other prime educational institutes like MICA, IIM, Pandit Dindayal University etc.

Remarks:

There is more of a bad experience than good. Very few faculties are supportive. Others do have knowledge but are not willing to share. I would rather prefer taking 2 years of industrial experience than taking a Master's degree from this college. I just feel like I bought a piece of paper in the form of a degree by paying very hugh price.
