Great Memories with this College.

After getting a valid rank in JEXPO 2017 i have chosen this college and this stream because i love steel making so a very few colleges are in west Bengal for Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering and i got this college through counseling. After paying the seat booking fees i have to go for physical verification of all documents with a Medical fitness certificate and Indemnity bond to the college. The criteria for getting admission is to hold a good rank generally between 5000 in jexpo and having minimum of 45% marks in 10th or 12th whichever is the last qualification. The total admission process was good not the best but good overall.

I love steel making so i have to choose metallurgy and i want to reach the position of Plant manager and it is only possible with a metallurgy degree. The main reason is that the lower competition in the market to get a job. The course curriculum was very good a lot of lab facility was there and many industrial visits and industrial training arrange by a college so we got the chance to see how really the work is going on. The faculties are highly qualified everyone has a minimum of B-Tech and some are there with M-Tech and HOD was holding a Ph.D. degree with industry experience of 10 years. Every year two semesters are there and it was quite difficult to cheat because guards are very tight.

moral less 90% students get placement. Placement drive started after 5th sem. The minimum 75% attendance and 7.5 CGPA is required to participate in the placement drive. I got the option but did not take it because i am doi g B-Tech now. The comapnies like Tata Metalliks, Rashmi Metalliks and some other comapnies came and they offer averange 10,000/month.

The fees structure was very nominal because it is a govt college under WBSCTE and scholarships are there for students. Kanyashree was there for girls. recently i heard that the Student Credit Card facility is also there for every student. They provide a placement jobs but i did not take the opportunity because currently, i am doing my B-Tech in Metallurgy.

1st of all i have to say that hostels are in the college campus so your daily bus fare is no longer needed. the campus is full of trees and a lot of wide-open spaces is there. Classrooms are old, no audio-visual teaching facility was there except only the meeting room. All types of programs arranged by college like fest tech fest annual sports Saraswati puja Viswakarma puja. No special groups are there but a social culture group was there but not so much active
