If you are self-dependent then this is a good option and is value for money

I applied for DU also but I did not attend because I was not interested in B.Sc. Also, I was getting lower NIT's but I was not getting CSE branches there. I just wanted to pursue BTech in CSE because I was only interested in Computer Science. I did not avail any quota. Admission for the B.E. program is based on JEE mains. My rank in JEE mains was 49577 and I got it through CSAB counseling in the first round. As such, there is no minimum age for taking admission. The Candidate must have passed 10+2 and have JEE score that's it.

I chose this course because I was interested in Computer Science and I was getting it easily here via my JEE Score. The faculty-student ratio would be 1:5 as for theory classes and practical classes different faculty is assigned. Teaching is something that will disappoint you here because most of the faculty teaches for formality with no passion. But there are some really passionate teachers also who team really well. Faculty have Masters degrees but most of them don't seem interested in teaching heartily. Also, many faculty members have attitude problems. Some are Student-friendly. The Semester exams are timely and not tough. You can get a decent score even by one-night study if you have proper notes and attended classes.

The placements are average at SLIET. Students become eligible for placements in their 4th year. This year almost all students(85% - 90%) got placed and the highest package offered was 23 LPA from Walmart, the lowest package was 3.5 LPA and the average package was 4-5 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Microsoft, Walmart, HCL, Cognizant, TCS, Infogain, and Infosys. Some Students got internship opportunities at TCS, 1k Kirana, NCR Corporation etc.

The fee Structure per semester consists of the tuition fee (25,000/-), Hostel fee (3,500/-), Other Student Activity and facility charges such as Library, Wifi, etc (6,500/-) computing to the net total of 35,000/- per semester. Considering the initial caution charges and non-refundable fees the net fees for a 4-year program would be 2,80,000 approx. There is a Scholarship for 4 years called the tuition fee waiver scheme for students on the basis of merit list formed on basis of JEE ranks. The eligibility criteria and features of this scheme are as follows: 1. The family income should not be more than 8 lacs. 2. The student selected for the scheme will not be allowed to change branches in any circumstances. 3. If above conditions are met, tuition viz 25,000/- per semester will be waived.

Campus Life is pretty good here. There are various Clubs related to software development, entrepreneurship, robotics etc. which are run by students themselves. TechFest is held every year and there are cash prizes for the top 3 winners for every event in the techfest. TechFest is held in the month of September. SLIET has a huge Campus with almost all facilities available within the campus. Wi-fi facility is available and every student gets 1 GB of data per day. There is a central library on the campus where you can find books on various topics. Books for all semesters are available in the section made specifically for the semester syllabus. If anyone wants to gain knowledge on topics beyond the syllabus then books are available for that too. A wide variety of games and sports are available in the Student Activity Centre like table tennis, squash, chess, gym etc. Every Hostel has a badminton court and Volleyball Court. Also there is a swimming pool on the campus.

There are 12 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels on the campus. The hostels are hygienic and clean. The bathrooms are clean(at least in the hostel allotted to me). There is a table, bed, almirah, charging socket, fan, tube light in the room. If they are multi-seater then for each student everything mentioned is there. for example, if 3 students are in one room then there are three beds, three charging sockets, 3 tables. The hostels have very minimal fees viz 3500 per semester. Every Hostel has its mess and the food quality is good. There is a monthly charge of approx 2300 for the mess.
