Remarks
In 2020 CUCET is conducted by CURaj. And nowadays NTA is conducting CUCET. As I am a biology student and I am interested in a research field that's why I have applied for Integrated M. Sc. Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology. I have also applied for the Central University of Haryana as a second choice. But I prefer CURaj because it's the best in the new central universities. I have got a seat in the OBC quota. The eligibility criteria for all Integrated M. Sc. programs is 10+2 with 50% in respective streams. Students have to apply for counseling on the university website after the release of CUCET score, and provide three choices.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because of my interest in research in oncology (role of biotechnology in oncology viz. cancer research). In CURaj there is an 11:1 student-faculty ratio which is quite good. All the professors are PhDs in their respective fields and irrespective of this most of them are student-friendly with a very good teaching aptitude. The exams are always on pre-decided time, except a few.
Internships Opportunities
Internshala is the internship partner of our university and many students got hired from our campus every week. There are a lot of internships available for students even from the first semester. Both (virtual or in-office) types of internships is available.
Placement Experience
Placements are available in University but it's not too good for my department as most of the students from life sciences prefer to go for higher studies. Last year 16/50 students cleared net jrf in their first attempt. But students can easily get internships at other prominent institutions like IISc and IITs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure for all courses is different but for Integrated M. Sc. it's approximately 50,000 annually with hostel & mess expenditures. The fees are feasible for everyone, isn't it? I got a central government scholarship from NSP DoHE. Every student can avail of paid internships through a placement cell or through INTERNSHALA, every week 5-10 students secure internships from our university.
Campus Life
Our campus is of 580 acres in area with both indoor and outdoor sports facilities available in it. There are seven hostels from B1-B7. There is a special sports department in the university. There is a central Library with most of the research journals and magazines.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are provided for all the students. All the hostel rooms for national students are seater while for PhD students and international students the rooms are separate for everyone. Laundry service is available and gym is also available in every hostel.
