Sanved Joshi's Review On Pune Institute Of Computer Technology- [PICT], Pune

I hot admission based on my MH CET score of 160. This was the best college I could get into. Although I could get into colleges like COEP and VJTI for branches like production, I opted for mainstream branch of IT and because of shear history of PICT.

Although I am just in 1st year of the course, from the knowledge I have got so far, the course curriculum is very nice and provides ample space for research. The curriculum is decided by Savitribai Phile Pune University, as the college is affiliated to the same.

I do not know about that for sure but heard about it. From experiences of seniors, Pune Institute of Computer Technology seems to have a good interns relationship.

You won't get better placement opportunities as well as packages anywhere in the city let go the colleges affiliated by SPPU. The main selling point of PICT is the placements and if you are a student of PICT, you won't be disappointed after 4 years of hard (or smart) work.

If you are at PICT, you would consider this as the best part of your life. So many events and most of them are tech-events. Addiction (annual gathering of PICT), Credenz, InC, and so much more. You will surely be learning something new every now and then.

Most of the scholarships availed by the students are government provided. I do not know any such scholarship being given by college. But at the end of sem, the meritorious students do get funds.

Campus life is very very good. The crowd is homogeneous blend of all kinds of people coming from different backgrounds. The extra curricular activities are enough to showcase your talent and meet your needs of satisfaction. The tech and non-technical events are too many to be named.

The university exam course is very good. 2 unit tests in first year per semester (online-mcq pattern) and end sem (thoery). Sometimes , the internal (additional) tests make it hectic. But, at the end of the semester, PICTians have the last laugh.

In CAP round 1 of admission process that takes place through CET merit, I was allotted seat of E&TC in PICT. I chose the option of moving up in the preference list given by me and was promoted to seat of IT in same college in round 2. No progress in round 3 and 4 due to tight merits.

The faculties, I must say, may not appear that good but have profound knowledge of their subjects. If you tolerate their English(!), you would be interested in attending their classes for sure. Some of them are strict but very friendly at the same time, if you are. Your Attendance is an issue for all of them.
